Both FF and Chrome are working well. I can download pdfs directly but unfortunately this means the whole document and just just a particular page. When looking at old documents, I might want only one or two pages but have to download 600+ pages…

Many thanks for your patience, gentlemen.

FF Add-ons-Extensions shows Zotero 3.0.11. My standalone is 4.06. I have just downloaded 4.0 for FF. News flash! Now FF works on canadiana and saves on Z standalone. I guess that it was the mismatch between 3.0.11 in FF and 4.06 Standalone.

I have tried disabling "Ad Block" which never bothered anything before, but it seemed to make no difference.

However, in Chrome, when I try to select a particular page, the book icon disappears. That is, it turns blue from gold. I can select a page, but then nothing happens.

When I use Chrome, I do see the "book" icon.

I do not see a Zotero URL bar icon of any description

http://eco.canadiana.ca/view/oocihm.9_00939_22_1/26?r=0&s=1 I've shut down the computer and went away for half an hour. It is behaving exactly as it did when I shut it down.

Sorry - was called away. Chrome: if I go to any page other than the "canadiana.org" site, and right-click on the page, I get the option to select "Save Zotero Snapshot ....". Clicking on it, I get the familiar popup box and Zotero standalone has a…

Strange - it works on ordinary web pages but not the specific one that I need. When I went into Chrome extensions, there was an error message saying: [Javascript error; "attempting to use a disconnected port object" (file "Miscellaneous bindings…

Duly sent

I got a lot of lines of output but no visible Debug ID - I checked the first 20 lines and the last 20 lines

There was no explicit error message received. The report errors function is greyed out. There was no "Report Errors" button in Chrome. I don't know how to describe what doesn't happen, after I right-click on the web page to be transferred. I get …

I saw no report ID. It simply does not work. It has been working well for weeks. It was working well this morning.

Adam: It appears that my HTML "success" was actually achieved by selecting the items, choosing "Generate Report ....". This pops it up in the FF screen. From there I highlighted the report, used CRTL-C and pasted it into Word 2007. Some refor…

Adam: Thanks for the clarifications. Whether trying RTF or HTML, I selected the item and the attached note, but it only worked in HTML. I guess this means that I could generate a bibliography with notes in HTML, copy it over to Word, and reformat.…

Adam: I've created a number of items from "Early Canadiana Online" and then attached notes to them that explain the significance of the chosen references. When I open Word 2007 and go to the "Add-in" buttons for Zotero, I am directed to 'insert …

adamsmith Thanks for the response. You're right, of course, that this is a technical forum. I've been using it to learn how to work effectively with Zotero. I figured that forum participants would be aware of what might be called "best …
