Dear Dan, I have found out the reason why the files remained untouched and non-deleted. The files (PDFs) were set to be read-only. After globally unsetting the read-only attribute to all files in the Storage folder, no 'left-overs' are present :) …

I feel very embarrassed and ashamed. I made managing of my three library perfect two days ago: I created multiple profiles for FF and "dedicated" and designed them fully to Zotero. But I didn't disable Zotero on my default FF profile. Yes, it kept t…

I tried restarting the PC. too (before reporting :)). Disabling all add-ons, even the default ones, did not change the erroneous behaviour. p.s. This error occur in one of my three libraries from which one has the exactly same FF settings (profiles…

Is it true that when files .zotero-ft-info and .zotero-ft-cache would be created manually, Zotero would read them and search them? Thus, Zotero would have those files indexed?

1) I turned on the JavaScript Error window, but have found not error related to Zotero. 2) I believe I got the rest (debug log) right, here it follows: Ten files was deleted using Trash, but only two of them were actually deleted from the FS. Debu…

I'm really sorry, I'm back with the very old issue. It's the issue the tread had been started with. Zotero deletes the items (both parent and child (PDF)) into the Trash as requested. But only .zotero-ft-info and .zotero-ft-cache files are deleted …

2&2 libraries on 2 computers behave the same, as descibed above. one has been upgraded from 2.0b7.1, the others from 2.0b7.4. May I supply other information, or a library itself? Cheers, M

Dear devs, I'm back with the report on the issue, using the fresh 2.0b7.5 version. Thanks for the update :) The files are now deleted from the FS without traces. But there is one other unclear additional behaviour: - when a parent (or a parent-chi…

Thanks Dan. I was always using Empty Trash function to delet the Trash. Positive, "Remove attached notes and files" has been always checked (-- but even it was checked, the attachemnts were grey, as mentioned above). I believe, you mean the beta …

Thanks for checking Dan! reg 1) positive. Trash emptied. I even closed Zotero, to finish the Firefox session -- to be sure the process is not hanging in bg. reg 2) nope, they are not (unless they are indexed in the meantime, which I can't check --…

If anybody want to check their indexed Library -- this was my way to delete files already "deleted" and not included in the Library: command-line in Storage directory: - storage> dir /s * > dir.txt edit with vim the dir.txt file and search f…

Deleted tens of items with attachment this way. One was deleted OK also from the FS (WinXP).

Yep, that helped :) Thanks. M

BTW, when launching two FF profiles when Z is set to the same library in both profiles. The later fails to load. There is no way to switch to other library unless killing any FF (because Z just says 'error', but does not allows opening), starting FF…

I've tested M, mainly for just for fun and to know... negatives: - it failed to load the Library Z exported in UTF-8 or any other encoding - it stuck on some syncing or extracting, I had to kill it a couple of times - it allows 'related' but it's n…

Anybody knows how to change the displayed name of such a fullscreen library window? I've changed the shortcut name and its icon (that is pretty easy), but when switching windows (alt-tab) there is always a FF icon and "Mozilla Firefox" name. These s…

Tried cliccking before, I missed the "magic" point. Worked now -- from right side towards the centre. So, thank you very much, problem resolved. Thanks for the hint with the .rdf file. Cheers, M

I couldn't find/parse for information about a date range on a Conference paper: a conference took place during the period e.g. from Sep 29 to Oct 2, 2008.. What is the correct form to write this down? I tried more structures (2000 Sep 29 - Oct 2), t…

eh! what about preserving the minority UPPER CASing?! (majority UPPER CASing would be translated as you suggested.) Nevermind, I'm not the only one who was thinking about this ever before... Cheers, M

I simply vote that the styles have to be corrected regarding this issue, globally. Then the 'lower case' and 'UPPER CASE' makes perfect sense. Cheers, M

Dear Adam, you cheered me up quite well. That would be an answer for eth. Capitalise when needed -- not important in the Library, but we have an extra "feature" (possibility) -- to say whether the first letter is needed to be capitalised (names,...…

I agree very much with the "Sentence case". Cheers, M

to mark: I'm dealing with a similar, but rather usual task: how to cite and manage a citation: "J. Smith, personal discussions, 2000". Cheers, M
-
IMO, whatever the styling and markup of the title&abstract is going to be, it should allow for a simplified search: e.g. "H2O" should be able to find "H2O". Cheers, M

Exactly, the scroll positions of the documents. M

Hi all, I've just ran into the same issue/problem recently. problem/issue: I want to have the "R Project" cited. They suggest to cite the program as follows: R Development Core Team (2009). R: A language and environment for statis…

Thanks noksagt, thanks Dan, too, for your replies. I see and I can reproduce a valid export now. I have tried that for some UTF-8 characters. Only that, it was a pain to find some characters. Has been an option considered to export/show a note rel…

I do not understand what Dan S. meant -- the button just deleted some files I had to copy them from my backup. And I agree with ngirard, there is sth wrong with the TeX export. A citation title says a) "blabla blah BaTiO3 blaaaaah" b) "blab…
