Deleting the entire user folder seems to have worked, once I found the right folder under Windows 10. It's in Users/yourname/AppData/Roaming, but still listed under Libreoffice 4. I tried just deleting the extensions subfolder to save my tool settin…

In Libreoffice options Advanced, you can choose Oracle Corporation 1.8.0_51 from two different locations. One is in Program Files\Java (the 64 version I presume), and the other is in Program Files (x86)\Java (the 32). The autoinstaller error fr…

After uninstalling Java altogether, then manually reinstalling both 32 bit and 64 bit versions, then pointing Libreoffice to the 32 bit version, I still get the same errors. I'm installing from Zotero standalone, or manually from Libreoffice. Neithe…

Same problem here, neither auto nor manual installs work. Even after updating Java, Zotero standalone, and installing Libreoffice 5, on Windows 10. Does this mean Zotero doesn't work with 64 bit Libreoffice 5?

No, as far as I could tell I only got the updating error. After some tinkering, and a reboot, it seems to have resolved itself; I'm still checking to make sure everything's working. The java symbol is staying in my system tray though, which seems to…

On that note, the last couple of weeks with the OpenOffice plug in have been a little too much Alpha and not enough Beta - in other words, I think some of us are working on projects where we need more stability. I don't mind some beta testing, but u…

I am suddenly getting the "Zotero experienced an error updating your document" error again as well; deleting the Bibliography didn't help; there don't seem to be any duplicate entries in my Insert>Bookmarks section.

I ended up redoing all my references as referencemarks during a in-depth edit of the document. The price you have to pay for using an alpha I suppose...

I'm getting something similar on XP. It seems to relate to Firefox beginning, but not ending, a Java process, as the Java icon appears in my system tray and won't go away, even after the extensions (Zotero and the OpenOffice integration) have suppo…

Hi Scott & Simon - an interesting progression this morning. Initially when I clicked on the Cog icon to change bookmarks to referencemarks, it threw the error immediately. But I could add a new reference, which comes up shaded like a field;…

It's 3.0a2 - I've updated everything, including Java. It worked before the updates. WIndows XP; the latest OpenOffice; Firefox 3.5.3; I can send a screen shot of the error message

I appear to have a related problem; I use have been using bookmarks with ODT files and not had a problem; I have a big file with numerous references but now I get An error occurred communicating with Zotero... followed by some lengthy code st…

I have a lengthy document with numerous references and was having the same problem. Deleting the table of contents seems to have solved it, but it returned when I generated a new table of contents.

I'll add a request for this - for longer notes, it's somewhat frustrating to hit Ctrl-F and have nothing happen. It seems this should be something that is built in to the new rich text editor.

After cutting all the references and replacing them with plain text, I may have figured out the problem - a reference moved into a table. While testing afterwards, I got a "Zotero Fields cannot be inserted here" message in the table. Is it possible …

Done. On a related note, I've noticed that the fields aren't marked in the new version, even though I have field shadings and field names turned on in OpenOffice. I'm using the Word Compatible type references (something I may change), but it would h…

Ok - I went for Zotero 1.5 and the alpha version of the new OpenOffice plugin. Made a new Firefox profile to test it all (and moved my bibliography over with an export / import). Redid the citations, so far, so good.

I am, suddenly, getting the same Invalid Procedure Call error, with this text highlighted: fnPrefix = Mid(sName, nLoc, 11) I'm using OpenOffice 3 and Zotero 1.0.7, but continuing to write the paper is now impossible unless (presumably) I…

I'm a believer in standardizing the mess that is citation formatting, so seeing the CSE styles supported would be great, particularly the name-year system. I haven't seen the new guide, but a lucid enough description of both the numbered and the nam…
