I have now managed to get import to work, but only on relatively small sets of records (
-
Others have successfully imported from biblioscape, so it is hard to say why you can't. Given the number of records, I'd try to import a small subset first. Then, either import other subsets or try to run your whole exported file through another p…

Given that bibtex/latex won't have true 8-bit character support for some time, I think the default should be ISO8859_1. The default in JabRef, refbase, and Referencer is ISO8859_1. I think this is the case for kbib too.
-
It was a design decision & is NOT a bug (having the OPTION to allow bibtex to be exported as UTF-8 is a current feature request, though). MOST versions of bibtex do not fully support UTF-8. See Phillip Lehman's post about multi-byte UTF-8 in b…

Not sure what you would use on the mac.For what it is worth: unison is available on OS X too. There are other (free and proprietary) synchronization tools for any of these platforms.

Not yet. http://forums.zotero.org/discussion/391/2/hierarchical-item-relationships If you just want to be able to track where articles came from, you can use a separate tag or collection for each anthology and/or use "related." (Obviously…

This sounds dumb, I know, but where exactly is the address bar for Zotero ... and where is the about:config menu so that I can fix the automatic capitalization problem??Use firefox's address bar (that contains the URL of the current page). See Mozi…

Most operating systems have some way of using a network drive or mount point with the native file system tools. You don't specify the system or systems you use, so I can't readily advise on what to do. Remote collections do work, but they're not …

Launch firefox from the command line with the '-install-global-extension "/path/to/extension"' argument.

I directed you here, just as Dan directed someone from discussion 1161 here. See post 10 (by Dan). Mozilla has no mhtml or maf support at this time. A MAF extension had a bit of hiatus, but it may be developed for Firefox 3

All of those formats are simple, flat text files. You can open them in a text editor to see if there are issues with Endnote's export or with Zotero's import. In Endnote (Export), there was some muddling of fields....In BibTeX, there was also some m…

It can only import references that use WP citation templates that generate COinS. That page does not use these templates for the references--it has references that were manually inserted. Contrast to a page like http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Atom_p…

Can you give a URL that leads to the superscript problems you saw?
-
This is a minor bug in the WP citation templates. rft.genre should probably be 'bookitem' if "chapter" is present. The if/then logic available for WP templates has historically been pretty poor, so I don't know if an "ifnot" or an "else" i…

It would be fine assuming that you don't try to have both firefox and flock open at the same time.

This has nothing to do with deletion. It has to do with repeatedly taking a snapshot by dragging the URL from the location bar into the middle pane of zotero. platform: win xp extension: 1.0.0rc5 instructions: (1) go to a website. For e…

After only a cursory investigation, there is strange duplication behavior when a snapshot is added by dragging the URL from the address bar to zotero. A workaround is not to do this--use one of the zotero buttons or hotkeys (the item item that …

benoit: Your link contains your proxy, which I can't test. However, without the proxy: http://www.blackwell-synergy.com/doi/full/10.1111/j.1469-8137.2007.02103.x works for me (abstract & pdf).

Rt-click on the field & select the appropriate text transform.
-
In the middle pane, select the snapshot. The right pane will have the title of the snapshot, buttons to view the snapshot and to show the file, the URL of the snapshot, etc. Click the title (the top line in the right pane). You'll get a popup…

I don't know what your comment has to do about citation formats, but some googling shows that there are RIS exporters for papyrus. Others have used them to migrate to Endnote/Reference Manager. You'd probably be able to use them to migrate to Zote…

According to: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Comparison_of_reference_management_software#Export_file_formats RefWorks can export RIS (and BibTeX). Zotero can auto-catch some RIS files if the setting is checked. Or you can manually import…

No. See http://forums.zotero.org/discussion/1224/csv-or-other-simple-import-technique/#Item_2 but add in the complexity of having to parse a closed/proprietary format that Firefox doesn't grok.
-
I think it does actually help to reduce the problem. I use it in refbase & in other software that differentiates a start page and a last page. (I actually used to add one more level of granularity--to indicate that I knew that a citation was m…

Just want to make sure of something obvious--are you downloading the RNG file from that page or are you trying to use that particular URL (which is actually an XHTML page that is for human readers only)? You should use: http://xbiblio.svn.sou…

But if an article is one page, the first page is still not incorrect. That's partly my point. Your statement is true, but how do you know that it is only one page? When given something that is not clearly an extent (such as "1299" (as opposed to "1…

In addition to a page range & the total number of pages, a common thing stored in that field is the FIRST page number. It'd be nice to differentiate from all three cases. You can't only rely on hyphens. Some articles are one page (so the …
