Can't you just use tags for some of that? Have tags for 'chapter1' 'chapter2', etc. Tag notes accordingly. Create a saved search to have it behave like collections. The only hiccup seems to be that create bib/report from saved search creates…

Journal articles are supported, but I don't think that journals are. Is there even a zotero type for a journal as a whole? At first glance, your markup does seem to follow the OpenURL spec & is similar to what the COinS generator outputs a…

I have verified the library using Microsoft WordPad.How? A sqlite file is binary (not plain or rich text). If it was 100% readable in WordPad, you are not trying to import the correct file. If it merely had several strings in it, that isn't valid…

I think this is a WorldCat feature: http://www.worldcat.org/affiliate/webservices/xisbn/app.jsp

Go to "My Library" & select all reference. Right click & generate a bibliography from the references. OO.o accepts any of those formats (RTF/HTML)

I think they are currently static & should have nothing to do with your system (I haven't traced everything through, though). this.highlightColor = "#fff580"; this.alternativeHighlightColor = "#555fa9";

Thanks for your report. Zotero consistently included the number of pages for each referenceA fix is planned (although, you will probably need to reprocess your database so that the total number of pages is moved to the correct field--it is appropria…

This is a one-time operation for you, right? If so, that means that a work-around will do. Export your records to the so-called Endnote format (Refer/BibIX). Ensure that call number are tagged with %L (use search/replace if they are not). …

So I guess Zotero is assuming my book has start and end pages. Thanks for the tip. It is importing the Pages element now.Sort of--the meaning of the "pages" field in Zotero is not explicit & can refer to a range, a start page, or the total numbe…

No--it is a style for endnotes. References and notes are inter-mixed (e.g. in a single/combined section & in the order of appearance) at the end of the document. Sorry for any confusion re. "special method:" I was only trying to describe …

I have added those that use the AIP and APS numbered styles (Phys. Rev. *). I have not yet added Rev. Mod. Phys.

It sounds like what you are doing is what you should be doing (assuming that Firefox is closed when you do it), so I don't know why it wouldn't work. Have you verified that the zotero.sqlite file contains your old database (and not merely the defau…

You can drag a stand-alone attachment to be the child of a reference.

However, a good "first guess" at auto-filling journal abbreviations would be to use ISSN's list of title word abbreviations
-
The BibTeX translator will presently only allow file links when you use 'PDF:' & it uses the pdf mimetype. Other translators do differentiate between that and text/html and various multimedia attachments.

That is a bit easier, as there is already BibTeX import & it has some support for PDFs. A work-around would be to use a text editor to replace "sentelinke={file://localhost" with "pdf={" and: ",Sente,PDF Download}" with "}" …

EndNote XML is not yet supported. It is in trac as a feature request. However, EndNote XML changes between versions of EndNote and has other problems. This is the richest format out of and into EndNote, so support will probably come "some time."

Hover your mouse over "Author" & you'll see that it is actually a dropdown, where you can select a contributor's role.

Another method would be to try CrossRef's service: http://www.crossref.org/SimpleTextQuery/ And to follow DOI links it generates to retrieve citations from the publisher.

To quote myself: This has been discussed at length. You can use cb2bib: http://www.molspaces.com/cb2bib/

What other add ons do you have? Some incompatible or potentially problematic ones are listed at: http://www.zotero.org/documentation/known_issues http://kb.mozillazine.org/Problematic_extensions

Thanks, Dan. I did mean s, but lacked the '*' argument for all directories in the current one. s is for summarize (size of subdirectories) h is for human readable (MB, GB) h is not easily sortable if the directories vary greatly in size…

My favorite method is: du -s * | sort -n (Dan's suggestion of using max-depth assumes GNU du, which isn't in the default FreeBSD userland (and so may not be in the Mac OS X userland))
