So syncing does not apparently work well for you. This is frustrating, but there's little reason to make accusations (especially when it does work for some of the rest of us). Zotero syncing does not work in the way you described. Metadata syncin…

The pdf metadata is not currently used. If there is no DOI in the paper, a google scholar search is performed with a phrase from your paper. I cannot download anything from the link you provide, but chances are that it has a phrase in common with …

It has been proposed that a 'proceeding' type be added if the hierarchical ontology is implemented: https://www.zotero.org/trac/ticket/210 https://www.zotero.org/trac/wiki/HierarchicalOntology

1) Does the patch now eliminate the need for Mendeley as advised here:Probably, but you could try it.2) Can I implement it without having to wait for a Zotero Update? If so how?Download the translator from trac & replace the version in your data…

Google Docs is not for general file storage.

I added the kb tag for you.

I believe the RIS specification lacks call numbers, so there is not a standard field to use. Please correct me if I'm mistaken. You could modify your personal copy of the RIS translator to put it in a non-standard field.

I exchanged the publisher and place in the styles, which seems to be the only change you requested. This was also appropriate for all other dependent styles, so thanks for catching that. I have also created a dependent style for BBRC.

Fixed.

Those particular pages apparently use COinS, but I don't see the author in the COinS tag & haven't yet bothered to see where that is being pulled from. I also have not checked if one of the existing OPAC translators (or requests for a new trans…

You had stated that:The elsevier-with-titles style is otherwise identical, it seemsafter listing a few things that you have to change in your zotero database manually for now. What specific changes do you think need to be made to the style?

Modify the BibTeX translator. Or use a post-processor to strip out the fields from the BibTeX that Zotero generates.
-
What a user-UNfriendly design! I hope it gets better.Do you have specific criticism or suggestions?

Don't know if I agree with your pseudocode, but I had pointed out that it won't work for, e.g. roman numerals & other non-arabic-numeral page numbers.

There are translators for Emerald Publishing and EBSCO, so you can probably import files directly in the future. Some of those PDFs you already have can probably be identified via:http://www.zotero.org/support/retrieve_pdf_metadata

Multiple developers read every post here. Since SP/EP take alpha-numeric strings & my solution is not a complete one and since CiteULike is one of the few data sources to put these tages in opposite order, perhaps we should be importing BibTeX …

Currently, it (naively and incorrectly) uses the nature style because the journal is put out by the NPG & the fact that it has a unique style was missed. Probably easiest to remove it for now & for you to follow the instructions at: http://…

http://www.zotero.org/support/retrieve_pdf_metadata If Zotero cannot tell what the article is, finding the article in an online database that is supported by Zotero may still be faster than creating a new item manually.

Have you validated your style?

I think that's looking bad for the Kindle because they don't have an app concept if I understand that correctly.Just to be clear: I was encouraging the writing of a Zotero-specific plugin, since that would have the benefit of supporting the users of…

I'm not a programmer, but am very interested in helping create such a Zotero extension. What might I be able to do to help such development along? It depends on what level of interest you have and what you are able to give. Offhand, I'd say you have…

When I removed that line the file imported OK.Can't you merely remove perform a search-and-replace on your RIS file, removing the offending empty line? I suppose that Endnote's RIS output style should be modified (if possible) to remove this defect…

This has been discussed before, but I don't remember where...I have modified my own RIS.js to fix this, but would like confirmation from others that this is a problem, and for it to be fixed in a future release. The current version of the translator …

Zotero, itself, does not interact with e-readers. It is not likely to in the near future either. Zotero, itself, has a unique directory structure to store PDFs. You can use searches and virtual folders to place ALL of your PDFs in a single direct…

What does the RIS you are importing look like?

Can you isolate the RIS record or records that cause import to fail? BibTeX does not have a standard field for accession number. Is endnote exporting it? If so, to what field? Can you modify the BibTeX export in EndNote to use the comment/note/a…

Ben: your topic (readability in the Zotero client) is different than this thread's (readability of the Zotero website). Start a different thread if you have additional questions. But one solution would probably be to use the default firefox theme.
