Thanks for the reply. I was a bit hasty it seems; I've semi-randomly clicked around in options and restarted Forefox twice; now the download dialog reappeared. And yes, I realize now that the import is only for importing references, not the actual s…

I thought I was running the 4.0 beta linked above. Of course, I had forgotten to actually restart Firefox so I never tested with the beta. Restarted, and indeed, the search now seems to work fine. This is why I should not be allowed near heavy machi…

I search: * Title, contains, "saccade" * Title , does not contain, "bzbzbzbzbzbzb" Works. It seems to give me roughly the same set of documents. I search: * Attachment contents, contains, "saccade" * Attachment contents, does not contain, "bzbzb…

I could see an argument that it's less appropriate for searches to show sibling context items, but given the hierarchical nature and the varying and vague ways child items can be named, I think showing the parent context row makes sense. "JSTOR Full…

that makes sense, yes. Saved search won't help much there. I don't have a great GUI idea to solve this, though, I think it's important to keep the advanced search comprehensive. I guess adaptive menus could be an option? Adaptive menus would be pai…

Thanks for the quick answer. "couldn't you set that up as a saved search?" Hm, that kind of works, for the specific case when I'm looking for a single keyword. But that's not usually the case, and then I'm back to having to pick out that one crite…
