> I've cleared your online data. Thanks. > you're likely misremembering I'm not. Syncing my work to a foreign server would be the last thing I'd ever do!

If you're talking about the "PDF" at the top of the item pane, yes, that's there because attachments continue to have separate titles regardless of this setting.

Ok, it is NOT a linked file, but an attached file. The problem is as described. Wanna still a screenshot?
-
Still, or again, "show file name" is enabled, but I only see PDF as the name of the attachement file. Please fix this. One can't even c&p the titel from the library list. Then please make a copy-name-to attachment title context menue option. D…

Much time passed .... thanks for fixing this. works now as it should. Helps me a lot as I work mostly with partial book scanns!
-
Yes, u are right, but this non redundancy reasoning in any case shows no taste for sane priorities. Look at your books. But thanks for pointing to the preferences. Leastwise something ...

I am talking about forum login which now fails with vivaldi due to some claudefare woodoo And BTW, the vivald zotero plugin works fine ( has nothing to do with foum login), why are you so picky about which browser people use for visiting this forum!
-
> The first file you add is supposed to be set to "PDF"/etc Why on earth is it "*SUPPOSED*" to be set ... It is nondescript, meaningless, impeding . I am working in a big part with partial PDF-scanns of Books. I want to see the titel or better…

... just for the record: I could d/l all zotero_8.x.x versions with full speed. The latest 7.x.x, I could not although I tried different times at different days. For whatever reason, now with 8.x.x no problem ... I assume I would have to use a diff…

Ok, I did not know. Thanks for the *.deb_s . But downloading from your server would need 12 hours according to apt. It comes in B/s-wise.
-
But it would be helpfull if it could.
-
I assume the versions are the same, but I have now added the canonical URL. Thanks

@ dstillman I'm not running zotero from a script usually. It is an exception. I am working on something manipulating already imported PDF files in ~zotero/storage/*. While the script is runing, zotero must be closed. When the script has finished, z…

No flatpack, it's coming as a *.deb from "deb https://mirror.mwt.me/zotero/deb/ ./ " and ist is installed via apt.

Ok, you are right, partially ;-) But, can you catch this PDF with the connector (with whatever browser)?: URN: urn:nbn:de:hbz:468-20181121-121528-0 URL: https://www.diegesis.uni-wuppertal.de/index.php/diegesis/article/download/329/530

The connector works fine with vivaldi. But it seems a PDF can only be catched if is embedded in a landing page (KI told me so, and it seems right as it neither works with chromium). If it is a naked link to a dokument, zotero connector cannot (does …

Ok, thanks for clarifying. But only to complete the malfunction: for whatever reason it is like "p. 87" insteadt of "s. 87", it became now "page 87" instead. So the first citations in notes are "p ...", following ones are "page ...", they all shou…

thanks for the info! Still, if I could choose, I would prefer to have the filename instead of "PDF" or the like. The parent item and its child items are not the same, none of their names are a redundancy to their parent. It's like index card and b…

First: The purpose of my action was *not* renaming but *replace* a partially bad scan with a goodone without losing the annotations. Renaming was a neccessary part of the exchange. And this applies to a file which was *appended*. (There are three ot…

Thanks to both of you. It worked, and once I understood the relevant part of zotero's internal structure it was easy to replace the old file with the newone. The only hurdle was the fact that the new scan was geometrically different from the firs…

Ok, thanks, I now found them both. But to me it seems the annotations are NOT stored in the document folder, but elsewhere. So how can I detach the old PDF from and slip the new PDF under the old annotitions (whoms storage place I not even know)? B…
-
The PDF are both appended to their entry. So how, technically, would I do that. Where do I find them. Yes, most likely in (linux) ~/zotero/storage/* . But I have there about 100 entries with cryptic names. Is there an easy way to find the items name…

Thanks. Very appreciated!
-
So why is this not a bug?
-
Stupit me! Sure, with the “Save to Zotero” button it's easy to do. I completely forgott about it. Thanks. M.

This problem could be marked solved, were in not for a flawed little detail within zotero which as a consequence prevents the annotation tool from picking the right page number automagicly: The PDF standard allows for *explicit* page numbers which …

The forum takes basic html tagsThanks for the info. There is no reload button in Zotero's PDF or epub reader, so still not sure what you're referring to. If I open the document associated with a book and make a right click in the epub window the upp…
