  • Hi Dan, Seems to have done the trick. Many thanks, Best, Naomi
  • Oh - and the workaround I've been using (as I have RefMan) is: Export from Ovid as RIS document Change the extension from .ris to .txt and open in notepad Find and replace all “TY – ELEC” with “TY – JOUR” Change extension back from .txt …
  • Hey guys, I've found the same issue with the last names. Do you know of any way we can change things so they work? I'm (again) importing loads of references in a go from Ovid! (and THANK YOU for getting it to mostly work!!)
  • Wicked! Will be in touch around the 6th, then!
  • The idea of going in teh wrong direction (even though I can read...etc.) has freaked me out sufficiently to back up first. Thanks boss! :) P.S. project concludes on 04/03/14 (dd/mm/yy), I collapse on 05/03, and will be ready to test RIS …
  • Er...I should have heeded your warning. About 2hrs ago. :( I shall do everything on standalone tonight (if i successfully resist the lure of commiseratory vodka) and then sync overnight if possible; thanks for the clarity in your explanation! Y…
  • Give it an hour to empty, or an hour to resync? Should i turn on autosync before going to bed (or hitting the bottle!) and hope for the best by the next day? Is it best just to do all manipulations on standalone without autosync then get it to …

  • *sob* Okay, thanks. I'm back to the drawing board.
  • But wait a second. OVID exports to xml, apparently. Can Zotero import from xml? (this is bringing on trichotillomania; i swear! Apologies if I seem inept...I feel it!)
  • Gotcha. Don't suppose you know of another means by which to systematically search those dbases without Ovid's involvement at all, then, do you? I'd be far happier to rewrite my search syntax than retag 2803 outputs. :)

  • Funny, I'd just found that, as I tried to start editing the ris exports. Alas, it's seriously a mess, with abstracts from conference proceedings that have tags that don't match anything sensible (i.e. N2 instead of T2, JA instead of C3), mixed…
  • Thanks Adam, I'm doing that now (so much fun). Quick question because I seem unable to find the long list. Is there a list anywhere of the pt/TY's*? I had a look at SQLlite and can see that itemtypeid=4 for typeName=journalArticle. …
