I figured it out. Institutions have separate options under CSL-m 1.0.1. It works now!
-
One more question: do you need to add form="short" element to cs:name to force abbreviation, or is abbreviation filter applied to all names regardless of the form="short" element?
-
Got it. I still don't have a good grasp of how the abbreviation filter runs in MLZ. when you import an abbreviation list, where do they go? In other words, how does MLZ re-claim the abbreviations that were imported in the previous session? On a …

Actually the punctuation-in-quote option still doesn't work. All the other locale settings - e.g., terms - follow the language of the data, except for the punctuation-in-quote. Strange.
-
Ok, this has worked for me. (The disambiguation is done within macro="ko-secondary-subsequent".) Previously, the ibid/ibid-with-locator/subsequent tri-furcation was built into each of ko-book, ko-chapter and ko-perio…

Oops.. Do you use a different test engine than http://fbennett.github.io/csl-validator.js/ ? Neither the CSL-m validator nor chrome://zotero/content/tools/csledit.xul reported any error with the style.
-
@fbennett, Did the code you posted above work correctly for you? It still doesn't disambiguate in mine. Is there a chance that it's because I'm using the special MLZ that you provided to deal with the other issue from last week?
-
Thanks for all the work and time you've put into it. I'm surprised that your CSL-m validator found errors in my style, as I didn't run into any when I validated it on my computer with the same validator. My style ran fine in chrome://zotero/content…

Thanks. As usual, I'm providing more information only to facilitate your debugging. Knowing how busy you are, I don't expect immediate solutions.
-
This is really strange. I've been doing some troubleshooting by comparing two styles - one with disambiguation working and the other not. I even transplanted cs:macro name="amlaw-title" from MLZ-Amlaw style into my problematic style. Since cs:macro…

yes, at fbennett.github.io/csl-validator.js. No problem.
-
@fbennett, Yes, I think my style is probably off. I applied a different style (than the one I wrote) which also incorporates disambiguate="true", and it works fine. Is there an option within CSL that may be hindering the proper operation of "disamb…

good point. But the same result with the following code: Still, I get both "disambiguate value is false" and "disambiguate value neither true or false" together for all subsequent citations. As I noted in anothe…

Ok, I thought I'd been using Zotero long enough to know all the basic tricks. Apparently I didn't. You can drag the Quick Format Box to anywhere you like.
-
I tracked down one of the culprits. The following code caused the above error, when it's used in a bibliography. Does this mean the abbreviation filter cannot be used with authority in a bibliography?
-
Anyone?
-
How so? How will that lead me to the errant item?
-
Can someone tell me why the code below doesn't work to bifurcate punctuation-in-quotes?
-
It appears that sometimes the Quick Format Box opens the list of references above the box, rather than below the box. Is this purely random? When there is more space above the box, then it's only sensible to have the list open above the box, but it…

I found the cause. The style was reaching for the short title. Sorry about the false alarm.
-
@adamsmith, Yes, that I understand. My question is, how do I set up a cs:locale that will handle items with empty language field? Will having a cs:locale with no xml:lang attribute do?
-
@fbennett, I'll eventually find out by trial and error, but can I have a cs:locale with no xml:lang attribute as default, in the same manner I have a default cs:layout with no locale attribute? English is my default language, but with the vast maj…

Got it. Thanks!
-
Oops.. That worked! Thanks!
-
mmm. @fbennett, @Rintze, Does that mean there can be multiple cs:locale? Since it appears only once and at the very beginning of a CSL, I wonder how you can have distinct cs:locale for each cs:layout. Do you place cs:locale within cs:layout?
-
@fbennett, Since you're catching a little break, could you look into this too? (I may be pushing it, but I have to be the squeaky wheel.)
-
I'm using my own style. Yes, the reference has both an author and an institution. Here is the citation format that I need: John R. Thomas, Follow-on Biologics (Congressional Research Service, 2009) And this is the snippet from the style that I'm …
-
I see. It makes sense. Thanks.

@fbennett, I know you're very busy, but do you have rough timeline as to when you can get around to this? I have to decide between waiting for your revision and manually editing the cites in my manuscript.
