I've thought about it, and adding a second citation followed by a hard-typed "reprinted in" could work for now. The only problem with this kind of approach is that the writer must remember the fact that the reference was later reprinted. I agree tha…

Thanks for the thorough and kind explanation, Prof. Bennett. I'm no copyright law expert, but I think you can make a good case that a paying customer has the right to glean citation information from a Westlaw/Lexis webpage using his or her paid…

BU Law outlines three different procedures, and #3 on the right, lower corner of the screen does outline a procedure for working out of a Westlaw page. Not much there. It's just a graphic illustration of how to populate fields manually while looking…

I've learned over the years that when the answer is short, it's usually not good news. :-) Thanks for the confirmation nonetheless.

Dan, you were absolutely right. I'm back at home, and it looks like I had been logged out of Zotero on my home desktop computer. I think a password manager that I had recently installed had logged me out of all websites. Mea culpa.

Thanks for the link and the explanation. Still, it doesn't explain what I'm experiencing. My office computer is missing several references that I added through my home computer last night. If it was just one reference missing, the "15 second" r…

In other words, as long as I pause for at least 15 seconds after a change in Zotero, I should be covered? That doesn't really explain how I'm missing some of the references that I added to my home desktop computer, because I usually give Zotero more…

"Item Type" worked beautifully! Thanks!

doesn't seem to work. When I follow your instruction, the search doesn't turn up any books.

Still no answer? This would be a very valuable time-saver that I'd like to see in next version if it's not already implemented in this version.

Hi Simon, The "Z" pane is back working magically. Have no idea what did the trick. Thanks.
-
Hi Simon, any progress on this? I'm sure your backlog is pretty huge, but I'm hoping to get back on track with Zotero 3.0 soon. Thanks.

It's D689135027. Thanks.

Debug ID for which one? Because I have work on my paper, I've removed Zotero 3 and reinstalled 2.1. Do you need a debug ID for the working 2.1 or non-working 3? The classic add citation from 2.1 works. The classic add citation from 3 doesn't wo…

Even when I type in a reference (author or title), nothing comes up in the "Z" pane. The library is still intact, but I can't insert any citation from within Word.

Sorry. Wrong computer. This is it: 621794844 Thanks.

No. It didn't fix it. The "Z" pane is back, now with the lower half, but it seems to have no connection to my Zotero database.
-
Yes!!! That fixed it. Do I need to know what caused it so it won't happen again to my Zotero going forward?

Here is the error report #: 1330561219 Keeping my fingers crossed in the meantime.

I'm using the Word plugin 3.1.4, and you are right! Adding the page number with a colon works! I wish this fantastic functionality was described somewhere in the documentation. It really streamlines my workflow, and I'm sure for many other peop…

I made my OP sound only tangential to Zotero, but I think it's an issue that a lot of Zotero users have thought about and researched on when they looked for a third-party WebDAV storage service.
-
Yes, adam's understanding of my question was acccurate. That's what I wanted to do. Although Gracile's answer might be a get-around, my middle column is cramped as it is already and I wouldn't want to allocate more space to the "journal abbr" field.
-
Yes, I understand that Zotero allows third party storage. But my proposal was to eliminate the use of a local drive entirely when a third-party storage (such as a WebDav service) is used. Is that how Zotero works currently? Maybe I'm mistaken.

I see there has been no discussion on this topic recently. Has there been a breakthrough to make multiple libraries possible in Zotero? I'd really like it.
