You're right! I had not idea that was how note references worked. Caspar
-
Thanks. For cross-references we refer to the note number where the source was first cited, so my guess is that option 1 wouldn't work (because Zotero would only be able to keep track of the note number if it created the notes itself) - or am I wrong…
-
Great news!
-
I see. Thanks for the information.
-
Ah. I assumed as it's an option in Zotero there would be some way to call it. I'm no expert on legal references, but one of my researchers wanted to cite this: http://iradvocates.org/sites/iradvocates.org/files/stamped -Complaint.pdf It's a complai…

Ah, so that was it! Thanks. Caspar
-
Does this work?
-
Thanks for the quick answer! Caspar

Thanks, @adamsmith. Here's the pastebin link: https://pastebin.com/n67ytjpi I took inherited the style, so there are a few macros I haven't really looked at, particularly ones with "locators" in the name. Any insights you (or anyone else) can off…

Thanks @adamsmith. It is mysteriously appearing now.

That's great. But I do wonder about cases where, for example, an original Book entry has been used to create a new Book Section entry, or for some reason you want to keep both the original and the edited version (say one has a translation of the tit…

I'm interested to know how it will be fixed. If I delete the original entry and clear it from trash that means I can't merge the original and improved entries, so I lose links in any documents citing the original entry. Will that still be the case?
-
Thanks a lot! I'm constantly impressed with how responsive and clear people are on this forum.
-
Thanks! I'll give it a go.
-
Thanks for the tip. FYI it didn't work with terms. Although I set it to "p. " it came out as "p ."
-
Great! Now trying to put a space after p. and pp. using terms. Let's see if that works.
-
Hi Wow! That was powerful stuff. I need to learn more about terms. But it did the job. Thanks a lot.
-
Thanks! That fixed it (once I found which name node it needed to go into).
-
And actually started by one of my colleagues, too! Thanks for the tip-off.
-
Thanks! Yes, after posting the question I found this site, which clarified a lot: https://aurimasv.github.io/z2csl/typeMap.xml Caspar
-
I look forward to that.
-
Thanks!

Hello to a fellow editor! Thanks for the tip.
-
Thanks. I think I'll change the settings on my public libraries, then. But importing entries from a public library I subscribe to?
-
Bwiernik: thanks for your comprehensive answer. I guess the clincher there is that editing the data would mean your edits overwrite their My Library entry, which would be undesirable. I look forward to the Document Collections feature. I hope it wi…

Hi Bwiernik Thanks for the clear answer. You correctly guessed that by "create a citation" I mean citing an item in Word - as an editor, I see Zotero as a work-saver when it comes to doing references in documents, rather than as a research tool or …
-
Thanks. Not sure I'm any the wiser, though. Maybe this would help me: if you want to create a citation from a library, do you have to be a member of that library?
-
Thanks, both! As far as I can see, Zotpress will help me insert references into Wordpress documents, but what I really need is a way of accessing different fields in the Zotero database and getting them to insert automatically into the right places…
