Yes, indeed. Perfect. Fixed. Thanks!

It took me some time, and googling around, this morning to realize that "retrieve metadata only works for PDFs that are top-level items, i.e. not attached to a Zotero item already" (adamsmith, above). It might be helpful to add this tidbit to the i…

Oh. Duh. That did it. Dunno how I missed it. Thanks!

I just tried syncing the Zotero on my laptop again, and notice that the conflict resolution window is reporting 263 conflicts, more than 100 more than on the last attempt.

I'm getting security warnings from Firefox and Chrome trying to access the zoteroreader.com site. Anyone know what's up? Is this project still alive?

+1 I don't like software that works differently from other software, so as to force the user to learn new habits. OK, if there is a good reason, but I don't see it here. A single step Move operation is pretty basic.
-
OK, that's a shame, but thanks.

Sorry about the vagueness, and--Yikes!--I just tried it again and it's working nicely. Yesterday it was not working for me, and I noticed the same "embedded metadata" message.

I notice today that I'm having a similar issue here: http://cat.inist.fr/?aModele=afficheN&cpsidt=3293000 Dunno if this is on the Zotero list or not. Thanks!

PS: I've sent the links to this discussion to the folks at Dissertation Review. We'll see if they respond.

Excellent. Thanks! LN

Thanks for the prompt responses. I've found that I can just drag the link into the central Zotero window, which more or less works. But the idea of "adjusting the metadata translator" seems like it might be worth pursuing, if time permits . . .

Thanks!

ajlyon, Using the new js file, I've successfully grabbed a book section as a book section, and a book as a book. Will report any further glitches. Many thanks!

I have the following response from EBSCO tech support on this issue: After checking with our product managers, I have found that we have a current service issue open in regards to the inability to export citations to Zoltero. I have attached your c…

Thanks, adamsmith. I sent EBSCO an email. We'll see what comes of it. Meanwhile, if ENDNOTE can sort this, why can't Zotero?
-
Works for me now also, from the overview page. Thanks!
-
Yup, I just tried WorldCat.org and it works for me as described. Many thanks!
-
The "Use Zotero for RIS/Refer files" is checked. I'm using the OCLC/first search WorldCat. As you indicated, LoC works fine.
-
adamsmith, Thanks. Now, when I click "export," I get a Firefox dialogue box saying "You have chosen to open DirectExport which is a: application/x-endnote-refer . . . What should Firefox do with this file?" The options are "Open with [Browse] or …

ajlyon, I tried your proposed solution, but am still getting the message "Could not save item." I shall remain hopeful. Thanks!

I'm wondering if lazark or someone else could give more detailed instructions for setting up Zotero to capture an export to EndNote. I can't quite seem to get it to work. How do I set Zotero "to default" in this respect? Thanks!

Has there been any movement on this? The University of San Diego, where I work, uses the Encore system, thus: http://sallypro.sandiego.edu/iii/encore/home?lang=eng
