Update: IT staff helped me out. The problem apparently wasn't with the missing Word update, but with some temporary files in AppData that messed up stuff and had to be deleted. Don't ask. I don't know if it's of general interest either, but I'm glad…

Thx, I'll have a word with the IT staff then :-)

Hi adomasven It’s MS Word 2010, version 14.0.4760.1000. I have run Windows Update, updated Zotero, and have restarted all programs and computer. The crash happens whenever I try updating a citation, whether using the classic or the dynamic pop-up …

@siv210: In my experience the new beta largely solves speed problems related to updating citations since you can delay updating. Footnotes are tricky though, also for MS Word itself. Apart from chunking up the chapters, you can try working with a li…

I vote for 3), and what bwiernik said :) But yes, it should probably come with some seriously-looking warning sign and clearer in-text highlighting if possible. Still, it’s a killer option that just, literally in the last minute, kept me from swit…

The 'delay citation update' option in latest beta is a REALLY cool feature that seems to solve the speed problem in large documents to a large extent. Also, it's a nice touch that you can see which citations are delayed. Awesome. Big thanks from th…

@fbennett: thx for translating :-)

Ah, solved it - in the visual editor.

That must have been what happened. Thanks for the tip about highlighting fields!

Sorry about being imprecise; I was actually using APA and was just curious about how to do it. But anyways, ASA also works fine for me! :-)

I definately see your point, Adam. Could you give a short version of how it's done properly? Thx a bunch.

I don't think it can be done properly, since the locater label (p.) is not editable/removable. But here's a way around it: In the visual editor go to: In-line citations -> Layout -> Group: then delete the comma in the field 'Delimite…
