Plus a global shortcut doesn't really make sense. A global shortcut requires coordination with all of the other running apps, on every different platform ,and even if you manage that, what would it do? Where would it deliver the data to, and in what…

The bbt key generator works, that's not the problem. If you and your collabs use bbt, a stable key can potentially be derived from the internal alphanumeric id. The problem remains that titles change, and non zotero (or non synced zotero) clients ar…

Readcube has no interest in bibtex whatsoever. I polled them when I was headed into the Z5 port (TBH, I seriously considered switching ref managers at the prospect of the port), but you can only reach their level 1 support, and they are, to put it k…

But still: Not Detailed here, Papers will also fall back on some other hashes when neither the doi or title are present, or when the metadata is of low quality and incomplete. In other words, even if the publication has a title, Papers may decide to…

@gagarine but my offer in that same thread stands -- if you're willing to test, I can get you a build that generates them. If you can also get Mekentosj to actively take up the lead on breathing life into this (I certainly won't, and that proposal h…

I gave it a stab, but I think that proposal needs a ton of work before it's useful: https://forums.zotero.org/discussion/comment/302067#Comment_302067

The problems you've had installing scannable cite are likely due to this not yet being released: https://github.com/Juris-M/zotero-odf-scan-plugin/pull/11 Until that's released it's not likely to work well. There's a race condition I can't fix on …

I don't think anyone actually reads the first-run text, but at least I do get to say "I warned you and offered you a choice". Small consolation but I'll take what I can get. I've been in touch with L&L; they hardly ever answered my questions. T…

The BBT first-run process will offer you the option to change your quick-cite format, but the default is to leave it alone -- it certainly should *not* be automatically changing this, and having just glanced through the code that handles the first-r…

It should AFAIR.

Isn't the diff between Beethoven and Gogh captured by [Beethoven][Ludwig von] vs [van Gogh][Vincent]?
-
I'm looking to do the same. Is it possible to safely manipulate the DB directly? I'm looking to transfer my whole personal DB to a group.
-
But these would be a feature of the citation then, not of the reference? I think @LiborA like me is looking to establish typed directed connections between references; @LiborA (I think) for chapter/book connections, in my case cites/cited by.
-
How about having only one side of the itemRelations related by a dc:relation filled in? That would give a way to build directed graphs. If custom predicates could be introduced (e.g for cited-by/cites relations), that would be super helpful.
-
@LiborA second that on "cites/cited by". What do you use in the interim to manage this information?
-
This is a standard Zotero feature BTW, this will also work if you're using the word processor plugins or generate a bibliography from within Zotero. BBT just happens to translate this same feature to bib(la)tex.
-
BBT should be able to import the newer groups format (which is an abomination, BTW). BBT is now at 5.0.126 (but it's still early in the evening...)
-
Cool, thanks.
-
I've managed to delete the problematic references.
-
(if it's BBT, the column would be zotero-items-column-citekey)
-
BBT tries to clean up the now-unexpected column as it's disabled, but does so by a monkey patch, and I don't really know how well that works when BBT is already disabled.
-
I'm not sure how to interpret that, but the ones I couldn't copy had just a few items, so I've just recreated those manually.
-
That's a misspelling of my name I haven't seen before.
-
Even if I do flatten my hierarchy and copy them one by one, there are two collections that don't copy, with no errors in the logs. BBT disables, debug logging on, report D229903998.
-
More info -- single collections work, nested collections don't.
-
If there's an unexpected column in the serialization format, that's what I used to see -- all columns displayed, fixed after save (because that saves only the valid columns)
-
It may actually be the popup itself. If I open the debug output window in Zotero (linux), and click the 'x' on the main window, Zotero remains running until I close the debug window. Perhaps the notification does the same thing.
-
So copying or moving full collections between the personal and a group library should work? I don't see anything happening when I drag a collection to a group lib. Nothing in the debug logs either -- literally. When I drag and drop, the logs don't u…

I know you can pick "classic view" from the dropdown under the zotero logo in the picker. I don't know if it's possible to configure things in such a way that you always get the classic view (which, TBH, I also prefer).
-
Yep, definately and consistently seeing schemaUpdatePromise resolve when I click the 'x', which BBT will take as a signal it can proceed loading. At that time, Zotero will have begun tearing down, so the file access fails there ("Exception... "Compo…
