@warwickmm is right. Set the Item Type to "Thesis" and then enter the thesis type in the Type field.
-
But honors could be Ba or Ma, right? I've added undergrad as an alias for a bach thesis.
-
Is an undergraduate thesis different from a bachelor thesis?
-
It's not currently exposed in the UI: https://retorque.re/zotero-better-bibtex/installation/preferences/hidden-preferences/#autopindelay

Do not sync the BBT files/databases. The reliable way to sync keys is by pinning them. If you don't want to do this manually, you can have bbt auto-pin them. When zotero adds a supported citekey field (which is planned), BBT will migrate keys there,…

One other thing I just noticed - using the case change on tags like italics or bold changes some of them to uppercase, rendering them nonfunctional. It seems like an exclusion might be an easy way to address that? The BBT sentence caser doesn't hav…

As tends to happen with BBT -- the sentence-caser has outgrown the humble few patches I made on the existing Zotero sentence-caser; it's not immense (100 loc), but it relies on xregexp. Two questions then: given its size and the xregexp dependency …

Yeah, gladly.

@dstillman any tips on how to make sure my translators are pre-loaded? As far as I can tell that is part of the problem; after a reinit of the translator framework my translators are not loaded. I test at start whether my translators need to be rein…

I still don't know how BBT triggers this behavior.
-
I also have a problem: in the options, it says: On conflict with a pinned key, not pinned keys will be "kept" or "postfixed". So, if I understand correctly, if a key is pinned, when adding a reference, there can be a conflict. One more manual step.…

@hbui.doc when you say "not the same as in Zotero", do you mean "when exported manually from Zotero"? You may be using the "BibTeX" exporter manually rather than the "Better BibTeX" exporter. Using the standard "BIbTeX" export will generally yield d…

There isn't a team, there's just me, and I'm more reliably reached on github than here. The PR has been merged and put out in a new release since.

@crowding Zotero advises against direct updates of the Zotero DB.

I do want to note here that it was not Zotero or BBT generating these bib files.
-
The word "expired" does not occur in the BBT source.
-
Not literally that text, no, although there is a prompt that says "Outdated, BBT has been disabled". But that's in a toast message, it's not something that requires interaction.
-
but exporting both date and year is weird in any case.
-
We're doing triage here, but it looks like the bib file is generated by something in the RMarkdown pipeline, not by Zotero or BBT. Zotero/BBT exports the entry in question as @incollection, and doesn't export entries to have both year and date.
-
@moikenhinrichs if BBT is not producing volume titles, please open an issue on github.
-
When BBT is involved, it seems to have something to do with the BBT translators not being considered loaded, but I have no idea why BBT is getting in the way when the quickcopy translator is not a BBT translator how to force BBT translators to be pr…
-
That means that no items in Zotero could be found that have citation keys _Newfundsallocated2022, 2020b, 326FZ or pilottoContextualDeterminantsUse.
-
It means that the markdown has a reference @nameofcitation (actual examples are always better than made-up examples), and that there is no item in Zotero which has that citekey.
-
As to why Jabref: I would guess because it doesn't do this.
-
If all you want is the data in extra to not show up, the BBT plugin can remove any field you like with a javascript snippet (aka "postscript"), which will execute any time you export. This does mean that you'll have to use dropbox or git to transpo…
-
I think that's about right. But if you're just looking for the annotations to be available in the translators, that's an idea the Zotero developers may well deem valuable enough to act on. In the interim, a plugin could inject the data into the tran…
-
If it is possible, it means that the plugins have access to more information than the translators, as they can obtain the information on what is currently selected in Zotero at a finer level. To be more precise: without the help of a companion plug…
-
Just to highlight how extreme plugins could in principle get -- I could make a plugin that turns Zotero into a eg music player, or a video editing program, or an ERP system, or a virtual Wii console. All of these would be insane to do (most would be…
