auth.lower + authForeIni + year + ShortTitle.transliterate.skipwords.clean.capitalize.len; auth.lower + authForeIni + year + shorttitle(3,3); ternaries are coming but it's not a short-term thing. I need to finish Zotero 7 support first.

You are on an older BBT beta build. Newer builds have fixed this issue since. All BBT work for the Zotero beta happens on github. Please report any problems you experience there, but do check first if it is not already in the list of open problems …
-
BBT offers a few options for exporting urls in bibtex exports. Biblatex simply supports url fields, so there's nothing special to do there. What revtex expects I don't know - if it is its own processor, I might have to look at that at some point, b…
-
That's been broken for a while. I do still have a rewrite planned for this, but that's after better bibtex has been updated for Zotero 7.
-
@dcsw2 on MacOs you just drag the beta to any folder (eg Downloads), rename Zotero.app to Zotero-demo.app, and then drag that into Applications.
-
Ah, then the standard Zotero BibTeX translator (and therefore the Overleaf connection) does not support this. It is supported however in Word and in Better BibTeX exports, if you want to go this road you'll have to use dropbox or git to bring the BB…

The nocase formatting is a Zotero feature, so it may also work with the regular Overleaf integration. If not, https://retorque.re/zotero-better-bibtex/exporting/auto/#getting-your-bbt-generated-biblatexcitekeys-to-other-places

agree with @bwiernik, but if you want to keep fda in lowercase in a title: fda: Functional Data Analysis. R package version 5.5.1..
-
better bibtex is closing in on a working Z7 version. As far as I can tell, it will be days, not weeks. Updates on https://github.com/retorquere/zotero-better-bibtex/issues/2522
-
That's now the new behavior in BBT (once the test suite finishes)

The full text for `number` is The number of a journal or the volume/number of a book in a series. See also issue as well as §§ 2.3.7, 2.3.10, 2.3.11. With @patent entries, this is the number or record token of a patent or patent request. Normally th…

Unfortunately, bib(la)tex data quality in the wild is pretty bad, so even if in this specific case `13` is the issue number, I'm not sure that's meant to be so. Nick Bart will usually get back to me within a day on questions like this.
-
I've just checked the biber-tool rules, and those allow `number` and `issue` to both be in entries.
-
I'm not sure. From the biblatex manual: issue field (literal) The issue of a journal. This field is intended for journals whose individual issues are identified by a designation such as ‘Spring’ or ‘Summer’ rather than the month or a number. numb…

I think the item @orion7 was trying to import was this @Article{rs12132114, AUTHOR = {Kolbe, Christine and Thies, Boris and Turini, Nazli and Liu, Zhiyu and Bendix, Jörg}, TITLE = {Precipitation Retrieval over the Tibetan Plateau from the Geostatio…
-
That's also just the `number` field in Zotero right?
-
For bibtex translation, they are prioritised over the stock translators. The detectImport is the same as the stock importer, so that will succeed, and then the actual import fails. Since there isn't yet a Z7-compatible BBT, on startup of Z7 BBT wil…

Is there a good candidate field for `article-number` in Zotero?

A workaround for what? If you want to start zotero without the UI showing, you can do that with xvfb, but that isn't really headless mode from the perspective of Zotero, and there's no way to use another zotero to drive the xvfb-running zotero. Zote…

I suspect the forum ate some of your code because what we see here is not valid javascript. You can enclose your code in ... and it will display as you wrote it.
-
If you set these keys using BBT, you can just select all, right click, and select BBT - unpin from the popup menu.
-
If you mean existing keys haven't been updated after you change the formula, that's by design. If you want them updated, select all items, right click, and choose BBT - refresh from the popup menu.
-
fixed in the next release.
-
To use this you don't need to have imported these using bbt, it just acts on the lines in the extra field, regardless of how they got there.
-
BBT might be able to help here: https://retorque.re/zotero-better-bibtex/installation/preferences/hidden-preferences/#patchdates
-
If this is a Conference Paper item in Zotero, why not just use the Place field? But if you do have Event place: Neuburg an der Donau, Germany in the extra field, Better BibLaTeX will export that to (for a Conference Paper) to venue. If the Zotero …
-
Ah like that - I didn't know brackets could refer to (), I know those as parentheses. Parentheses are not legal in citation keys, so BBT removes them before export.
-
I'm sorry but I don't understand which formula with "those brackets" you entered that was supposed to work but doesn't.
