I've had this issue for some time now. When I click on the attachment paperclip it does nothing (but I can still sort by Creator, title etc.).

Thank you, this was really helpful. I managed to do it, although I did hit a couple of stumbling blocks: 1. As I don't use command lines all that much, I initially interpreted the statement "You can open a specific profile from the command line wit…

I'm helping to set up the Zotero account etc., plus I can't use linked attachments with a group library. I'm a bit nervous using the terminal, as it is not something I generally do/am comfortable with. I saw the below comment on the page you linke…

by acting baffled Act? No, it was genuine user feedback. (One might argue that ignoring our explanation and calling this a "a frustrating limitation that doesn't really make any sense" is a bit "rude".) Explaining what would work for me as user is …

My comments have been completely taken out of context, and the defensiveness is a little irksome. I have not said that Zotero is not a good product, nor have I implied so. I merely stated that I found a limitation as a user. Many students already h…

@dstillman I was editing as you posted, I misread the comment. The Zotero membership is an upfront payment, the $20 plan is not large enough for those doing larger research projects - it will max out pretty quickly. So, the only option through Zot…

I agree with @FWA that this would be incredibly valuable. Wouldn't a message to users counter the potential for errors/confusion? I really hope i've misunderstood something here. What do people in groups do in this case? If we can't have attachment…

Edited: Initially, I was really excited about the idea of groups, it seemed like such an amazing option... then I discovered that they don't have the same functionality as a personal library - most notably the ability to use linked attachments (dro…

Review Articles are just another type of journal article, like editorials or research articles. They are cited the same. That isn’t going to change. Except if they have the same title, they duplicate in Zotero... it is an issue.
-
@gpatten I have come around to the position (argued by @adamsmith in a previous discussion on this topic) that a book review item type would be a suboptimal solution to the problem, since it would preclude me from noting the form in which the revie…

Will there be a book review item type added to avoid incorrect duplicates?
-
@adamsmith Out of context, yes it does. However, the element you quoted is not the only way that the proposed feature would work. Like others, I would like the ability to sort by this feature. I have used tags, but they didn't work for me. I fou…

I also support this request. As stated by others, tags could be used, but it made things a bit messy for me - I stopped using tags a long time ago. I would really like to be able to sort my list based on 'read' and have this visible in the list. …

[Moved from another thread — D.S.] @ @dstillman You wouldn't see the notes list except when you're trying to open a note, in which case this lets you choose between item notes and all notes depending on which you want to open — it wouldn't make se…
-
@dstillman - thanks for the clarification. The Notes pane exists for the note editor — that's the point of it, not the notes list. The note editor is where you take general notes on a PDF and where you collect your annotations and start writing arou…

Have the testers been chosen, or is this still pending? :-)

I just came across this today after seeing a tweet from Sean Takats, guys this is brilliant!! Things I'm loving: 1. The ability to update Parent Items in the Previewer. Often, a page will not have any/all of the meta data needed for the connecto…

@adamsmith Do you know if there is workaround available for this? My biggest issue is that it creates a mess in my duplicates.

Apologies if I've missed this, but will there be an update to allow for an extension in High Sierra? I saw the issue (which is open), but the link to the comment titled 'complication' is dead... so I'm unsure as to what info was provided there. F…

@emilianoeheyns Notion currently has API in private beta and will be launching public beta in the new year... hopefully the ability to integrate isn't too far away! :-)

I was wondering if there was an update on this? I followed the link for the reference extractor, but I'm after something that works within Zotero. The ability to generate a citation history report from an item or a citation history tab etc would be…

Thanks for the response :-) I found that by adding `Type: treaty` to Extra, it signals to Zotero that the entry is a treaty and removes the symbol.

Thanks Adam, as always I really appreciate you taking the time to look into this for me. Thank you so much for the code, does this mean if I add form="short" to every item type in the location you suggest that it will use the short title in the f…

That makes sense. For event place, I entered: Event Place: Yaoundé, Cameroon That didn't work, but it did work when I typed: Place: Yaoundé, Cameroon

Thank you for the advice. It's nice to know that it is being added. I'm not sure what the 'Type: treaty' does to the record (I added it anyway), but being able to add other fields is helpful. Note: I used the 'Event Place' per the guide, and whe…

This works for me, saves as a webpage including a snapshot. Do you have the most recent version? I'll also be annoying and ask: have you tried turning it off and on again? :-)

+1! I would love to be able to type up notes in Notion and cite relevant material. Basically, a similar plugin for Notion that Word has (not sure if this is possible). :-)
