Trying to use the same database in the VM and not will definitely lead to corruption. I would suggest disabling file sync on the Windows Zotero entirely and just using that library for citations.
-
That frankly sounds like inappropriate use of the description field by PubMed. I’d recommend that you contact them and encourage them to revert that change. This would negatively impact all RSS readers, not only Zotero.

Zotero works with the desktop version of Word (including office 365), not Word Online. What operating system are you on? See https://zotero.org/support/word_processor_plugin_troubleshooting#zotero_toolbar_doesn_t_appear

You could also take an existing Harvard style and edit it yourself to meet your needs https://www.zotero.org/support/dev/citation_styles/style_editing_step-by-step

See here for details needed to request a citation style: https://github.com/citation-style-language/styles/wiki/Requesting-Styles The main person who makes journal styles, @damnation, has been quite busy lately, so it may not be possible for the st…

Yes, you always want to be working with proper Zotero items, not just bare attachment file items.
-
Zotfile can extract different color highlights and label them within the note. An automatic workflow that creates many notes isn’t likely because very large amounts of notes can cause performance issues. But you could manually cut and paste the diff…

Take a look here for the corresponding citation. Zotero has similar fields for legal citation as Jurism. Note though that Zotero’s support for legal citation is much more limited than Jurism. https://juris-m.github.io/indigobook/

How exactly are you changing the style? You need to change it in the Document Preferences window from the Zotero tab in Word.
-
Batch creating of parent items has been restored in the latest Zotero beta: https://forums.zotero.org/discussion/comment/371255/#Comment_371255 I would suggest whenever possible using a DOI or ISBN to automatically retrieve metadata instead.

What style are you using?

If you mean the Library Lookup engines in the Zotero application (which comes with CrossRef and Google Scholar by default), you can download the engines.json file from here: https://github.com/bwiernik/zotero-tools Then, place this file in your Zot…

How exactly are you using Zotero in both Word and Google Docs? Moving from Google Docs to other word processors requires special steps. So, if you just downloaded the document and opened it in the other program, the citations would have been disconn…

You have two options: (1) Wait until you are finished writing. Then, Unlink Citations from the Zotero menu in Word and manually adjust the direction for affected rows. (2) Switch to Jurism (https://juris-m.github.io), a version of Zotero with expan…

Check the box in the pop up window that says “rename file” when you change the title
-
Select the attachment item and then click the title (bold text) in the right pane.

(1) It's possible to run the Zotero sync server locally. It's open source, but does require a fair amount of IT setup and maintenance. https://github.com/zotero/dataserver (2) An easier setup would be to use the existing Zotero group system. You ca…

As a side point, I strongly recommend changing items to "Robert R" rather than "R R". Many styles call for full names always or at least for disambiguation (e.g., to distinguish Richard R from Robert R).
-
There has been a bug occasionally where we’ve seen that sort order for citations don’t refresh until the style is changed. This might be the same thing.
-
It is in the manual. Rule 8.18. The idea is that the two citations will appear in different places in the reference list, so adding names aids finding. a/b are only used for the same list of authors.

In French is fine. See here for the information needed to request styles https://github.com/citation-style-language/styles/wiki/Requesting-Styles

If you want to get to Word with live Zotero citations, then you should insert citations using the ODF Scan Zotero plugin (https://zotero-odf-scan.github.io/zotero-odf-scan/) and then follow the steps to move from LibreOffice to Word (https://www.zot…

Yes, you can add DOI to Extra for any item, and it will get migrated when a proper field is made.
-
Don’t enter personal names in one-field format. That’s only for Institutional authors.
-
The Zotfile plugin can extract annotations
-
This is planned, but it’s a quite technically complex problem, so there’s no ETA on when it might be implemented.
-
As an alternative to moving everything, I might suggest using Zotfile’s Send to Tablet feature to send sets of PDFs back and forth for reading.
-
@fbennet I brought a bug to your attention a few months ago about label pluralization and en dashes
-
This would be a problem with the data in your Zotero item (I.e., that no author is entered).
