Hi! It hasn't bothered me to have this error, but any chance someone could look at this again? The error code now is: Report ID: 373368575 Thanks!
-
Nice clear instructions: D2106756661 I regenerated the error message without any problem.

OK, it's been even longer. Zotero is now updating itself, after politely asking. The changes above were successful!
-
It's been a couple of days, and the warning has reappeared despite doing the steps above. I reinstalled zotero 5.0.22 this morning using the method also above with one refinement: I also ran chgrp liou -R zotero in /opt/. We'll see if I continue to …
-
After additional thought, I issued the command: chown liou -R * as root just to make sure that I wasn't missing something when I scanned the file permissions and ownership by eye in my file manager.
-
Just ran down the /opt/zotero tree. All files and directories are owned by me. Permissions change depending on the files, but I tried to open various with restrictive permissions as the user (not root), and I was able to see contents in emacs. The…

Just to be complete. I usually run as a user. Zotero is installed in /opt/zotero which has the permissions drwxrwxr-x but the Owner of the directory is my user account, not root, so the solution suggested by the warning is already in place (I thin…

Always glad for an opportunity to help. Now that I can fix the problem easily, I reproduced it from this website: http://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S0022399902003306 Downloading the file manually did not create a problem as I coul…

So simple. Thank you. I was going to re-enter it from pubmed. The strange characters came from the journal website. I think you are right, renaming would have been easier in retrospect although if there were a PMC number I would still have needed t…

Sorry to be slow to respond to all of you. I seem to be working at the opposite end of the day! @adamsmith, Thank you for addressing these issues so completely.
-
@adamsmith: Thanks very much! The ability to parse both PMID and PMCID and choose between them is less important than getting the PMCID in there. NIH only penalizes for absence of PMCID. Without a word limit on the bibliography and reference sect…

I had problems with The Library of Medicine Grant style. To address the NIH requirements for PMCID numbers, I have put into the Extra field: PMID: 12345 PMCID: PMC12345 When using the Library of Medicine Grant style, I got output that looked lik…

I wrote the editors and got back several replies. The name of the journal is in fact, "CHEST Journal." The approved abbreviation is "Chest." The Chest website when you click on "Get Citation" actually gives you the wrong result. The citation tha…

Thanks for the comments and suggestions. If I hear back from the editors, I'll post here.
-
I should add, though, that when referring to itself in the text, the name is given as "CHEST". I guess this really is at least partially an issue with the Journal, not Zotero. According to my orthopedic friends, the chest exists to supply oxyg…

Thanks for the quick answers. I'll try the citation styles adjustments and do manual edits as needed. Pulling a citation from: http://journal.publications.chestnet.org/article.aspx?articleid=1512435 gives the all caps, however, when q…

Thank you. I think it was the slash that I was missing. This line worked great:

Hi, I'm trying to do the same thing as corried2, but I am stumped. If I add into the science (dev) style just above sure enough, an extra volume number shows up at the end of the bibliographic citation. But if I change my extra line…

Thanks for the speedy response. Starting a document in Gentoo Linux does not allow me to use Zotero. The error message is "An error occurred contacting Zotero. Please ensure that Firefox is open and try again." As suggested in the link, I tri…

I don't know if my problem is related or not. I was trying to sync on a machine for the first time and the errors kept changing. My problem ID number is 100684511. The last error message was: [JavaScript Error: "[Exception... "'Existing item 723…
