Hi. It sounds like you are saving your items to the Zotero addon, but not syncing them with your online account (that is what you would see on the "My Library" tab on this website. You need to enter your account login info in the Zotero addon prefer…

Bruce, just look for a "paper" icon in the address bar of your browser. There are several ways to add references to Zotero, but what you tried isn't one of them (would be cool though). http://www.zotero.org/support/getting_stuff_into_your_library E…

Edit: Never mind, didn't see the previous post. For astronomers, virtially all our searches are done at the ads http://adsabs.harvard.edu or the arxiv service http://arxiv.org/find/astro-ph It seems both these sites are supported. Are you unable t…

This is definitely certain translators. I just tried nature.com, for instance, and accessed through my proxy, the URL that was produced was the doi-based URL. However, I have several articles with "stable" page URLs that contain my proxy address in …

Of course it is fairly easy to just add the PDF, and then have Zotero grab the metadata. Alternatively, you could just copy the title of the paper and throw it into a Google Scholar search which will give you the direct "add to library" link in the …

Export is really meant for moving your Zotero data into some other application, and I don't think there is any export method that preserves all your data perfectly. If you just want to back up your data, or move it to another computer, then you can …

If that is the exact name, I don't see it on the list: http://www.zotero.org/styles In which case there is a specific way that style requests should be made: http://www.zotero.org/support/requesting_styles

Edit: Whoops, never mind. I went to make sure I was right that it can't be done, and adamsmith posted in the meanwhile. I don't believe it is possible to sort libraries on the website. You can break down your group library into smaller chunks by c…

Just chiming in that I am also in favor of this idea. I am in the process of moving from Word to LyX, and the loss of Zotero integration is really the only negative part of the transition. A way to quickly update/overwrite a .bib file would be great…

In case you are not aware, there is also a Word plugin that can do it automatically: http://www.zotero.org/support/word_processor_integration

After creating your account on the website you have to enter your login info in the addon. If you haven't done that, open the Zotero addon pane, and click the gear icon->preferences->sync.
-
The panes that I believe you are referring to are not on any website. They are part of the Firefox addon. If you have the addon installed, you should see "Zotero" or "Z" in the FF status bar (at the bottom of the browser window). You might also have…

Notes are sorted by title, so you need leading zeros. http://www.zotero.org/support/kb/sorting_notes There are other ways to sort if you view the notes in a report. http://www.zotero.org/support/reports#changing_the_sort_order_in_your_reports

I think a way to merge items would be the more significant feature, and possibly simpler to accomplish than duplicate detection which could be more of a nuisance than a help if it is not really well implemented. I can find dups fairly easily, but th…

The only thing I can think of is that you may have set up two separate accounts with different user names. I just did a search, and there are two users listed, one with the name azerbabe1, and the other azerbabe 1 (with a space before 1). I'll bet y…

Also make sure you have entered your login name and password into the Zotero addon's prefences (Gear icon->Preferences->Sync).

I'm not sure if this is the best method or not, but it will work. If you enter a bunch of PMIDs into the PubMed search box, all the associated papers will be returned in the result. PubMed can show up to 200 results on a page, and Zotero can import …

Separate profiles will work, but if they all log on to the computer under the same username, I believe the databases would still be accessible to anyone who uses the Zotero preferences to link to a particular individual's database (though I suppose …

For me, if I press enter after the down arrow (which clears the dropdown), it still enters that one suggestion into the field. However, I agree that it should not behave this way.

If the page has a "print" option, you can click that, and save the printer-friendly version of the article to Zotero.
-
Thanks. It does work from the overview page, just not the preview page. It may very well be intended to work that way. However, I still get a Zotero "folder" icon in the address bar when I am on the preview page, and it only produces an error. So it…

Send your boss to www.zotero.org/[your user name here] That will bring up your profile with a link to your library. If you add "/items" to the end of that, after your user name, it will bring up your library (as long as it is public). You could also…

Weird. I just reproduced this myself. Except I managed to make the library reappear simply by minimizing the tag picker (clicking on the "^.........^" toggle in the left pane).

Same thing happened to me tonight with Google Books. My report number is 98129139 Sorry if this is not the same issue, but it seems identical.

Be sure as well that you're using the default theme. I switched to the default theme, and the problem disappeared. Strangely I also re-enabled my theme of choice (Classic Compact), and the Zotero pane is still fine. I don't know why that is the case…

I thought I would put this link here for future reference: http://www.zotero.org/support/known_issues#incompatible_extensions_and_applications

Do you have any other extensions or themes installed? It sounds like it might be an incompatibility. I would try disabling everything else to see if Zotero works by itself.

As far as I know, there is no way to do it, though the option has been requested before. See the following thread, or do a search for "delete account". http://forums.zotero.org/discussion/11085/deleting-accounts/
