OK! I appear to be all synced up now. I noticed that it was throwing different errors in what appeared to be the same situations, so I guessed it could be a wonky connection interrupting the sync process at different points, and then screwing up th…

On restart, a similar (but different) error: New error report: 1734496870 Debug: D188490969 Still need to try turning stuff off ... ... OK, after disabling Adblock Plus, sync made it farther than usual, but threw another error: 57413290.

Yes, that seems to be the error. I just got it again with perhaps a bit more info: 1292957284. It seems to target a specific item/element which I know is referring to a URL that no longer exists, so I'll see if I can find that particular item and …

OK, I'm back home so I can do more testing. I still get a sync error (reported: 1457689312), and I noticed that it seems to get stuck on the "uploading files" phase. I submitted another debug report: D62373719. Watching the progress bar, I saw th…

OK, I tried again and it went through pretty much the same sequence. After completing the conflict-resolution, however, it did pull down at least one item from the sync server. Sync ended in a new error: [JavaScript Error: "[Exception... "'Error p…

OK, hope I did it right: D907740793. Thanks for looking into this!

Hi again, I just captured that sequence with Debug Output Logging. Submitted with report D537044531. Also, I captured two more bug reports on the way, 838234424 (which included an additional few errors -- "nsISupports is not defined") and 13345841…

Upgraded to 2.0b7.6, still can't sync my "main" local Zotero. [JavaScript Error: "Creator key not set for item in Zotero.Sync.Server.sync()" {file: "chrome://zotero/content/xpcom/sync.js" line: 799}] Error Report: 389799747 To recap, the sequenc…

Hello, So any movement on this issue? Is this a bug? I'm still getting the same thing 2.0b7.5 New error report ID: 701900398 [JavaScript Error: "Creator key not set for item in Zotero.Sync.Server.sync()" {file: "chrome://zotero/c…

Well, it was the same machine, and I'm not currently using it, but I'm pretty sure they were. In the sequence outlined above, I didn't check for issues with normal file storage (e.g. PDFs) since I haven't noticed a problem. To move back and for…

I understand why sharing a snapshot through the web interface would be more complicated than a single file, just thought I'd put it out there as a request. However, I don't see why I shouldn't be able to share snapshots through a group library.…

OK, I just enabled debug logging and then went through the whole manual sync process. It recorded 107K lines of output. Yikes! Here's the id: D1536034214 And here again is an error report ID for the failed autosync: 223569269 Hope that's…

Hi Dan, Indeed I was, and I narrowed down the problem item to a web page with a snapshot link. Other items (a regular book and a regular book with a Google books page link) actually moved fine. New error report id: 871340828

Thanks erazlogo. I'm afraid I'm going to have to put off following up on this til later, though, since I need it to work today. I think I can get by for now with manual entry, or maybe some creative use of a different citation type.

Actually, looking through the variables listed here: http://dev.zotero.org/csl_syntax_summary , it appears there are quite a lot of variables that aren't mapped and fields that are therefore unreachable in a citation or bibliography entry using CSL.…

OK, that's something important to know -- there's a difference between what's CSL-specific and what's Zotero-specific. I took out my macro and conditional stuff and just put the following in the bibliography layout section: ... B…

Ah, of course. I forgot this machine wouldn't be able to tell me I needed to upgrade since it can't go online at the moment. Thanks Dan.

Well, I returned to the office where this affected Mac lives, ready to deal with about:config, and found Zotero to be working normally in the browser. It had been turned off overnight, so apparently the powercycle allowed Firefox to clear the linger…

Ah, I didn't realize I could do that ... So I can open the preferences dialog, and it is showing that it's pointing to a custom directory, with the directory path being a large string of gibberish similar to an MD5 hash. So that's a logical rea…

No problem, I just sent it. I tried looking at the RDF myself, but nothing stuck out to me -- mainly because I wasn't sure what I was looking for. I didn't see any parsing errors, at any rate.

Thanks. I could have sworn I had already looked there :) Incidentally, I must be missing something in the re.zip->.jar phase, because after editing it and rejarring, Firefox appeared to not be able to read any chrome info from Zotero. I kept…

Actually it's affecting every field for me. Most notably, at the moment, the "Book title" field since I'm entering a bunch of references for essays in the same book, which happens to have a long title. Thanks for checking.

Since this error only effects us Windows users, and the "modifying zotero files" tutorial is for a Mac, can you give me a hint where to look for this itemPane.css file on Windows? Thanks.

Thanks for the reply. Yes, the collections that were exporting correctly also included file attachments. I tried copying the entire contents of that collection into a new collection, and I was able to export it successfully with files attached. T…

Oh, nevermind. The software I was using was inserting an extra space between (in this case) BOOK and the opening {. It would be nice if Zotero had some kind of feedback dialogue to alert the user to formatting errors in the import.
