Apologies for the duplicate thread - I wasn't aware of what to do. I'll know for next time. Thanks, bwiernik - I was hoping there would be some setting that I had overlooked, which would mean Word recognised the Zotero references as text that shou…

That's what I thought, but in this case the formatting style of the paragraph (Normal) is Times New Roman, and yet the citations have remained Calibri. The same has happened in the Bibiliography - its formatting style (Bibliography) is Times New Ro…

That's really helpful, thanks so much!

Ah ok, thanks, that's helpful. So if it happens again I'll try resetting the translators and then reloading any page I've been trying to add. Thanks very much for the very swift help, much appreciated.

I'm not clear whether there is there anything that I did that caused this problem. The only thing I did differently today that I know of was update to the latest version, and enable debug (once you told me to). I'd rather know if it was something …

Sorry, looked at the wrong page, it actually said 'Save to Zotero (Sage journals)'.
-
I did nothing different this time to what I've been doing all day though, apart from enabling the debug.
-
Ah, no, it's now saying 'Save to Zotero (embedded metadata)' and just worked when I added it to my library (i.e. added it with all the metadata.
-
Ok, so I need to enable the debug and then just open the webpage of the item that I want to import to Zotero? Just did that and this is the debug ID D1728419813.
-
Sorry, I think I must not understand what 'loading a page' means. I thought I needed to enable the debug in the connector advanced option, then do what has been causing a problem, i.e. try to add an item from a webpage to my library using the 'save…

I've just tried doing that, but still adding items as webpages only. Should I try updating the translators?
-
Thanks for letting me know. Would be really useful functionality for a future version.

I reinstalled because it wouldn't open, not in order to change the directory location. I did 1) above (telling Zotero the new directory location on the hard drive), Zotero closed, I cut and pasted the entire Zotero data directory folder from the ne…

Thanks, I found where the data directory was stored, and it was on a network drive, so seems like that was the problem (though I'm not clear why it has worked for so long and only recently been problematic - some change the IT team here have made to…

I do use Dropbox, but not to store my Zotero data. Zotero is on my C: drive "C:\Program Files (x86)\Zotero Standalone". This problem is only occurring on my machine at work, which is a 'managed desktop', whatever that means. It has worked with no…

I tried an empty document and it was quicker there, though I only added 6 references, whereas there are around 50 in the original document I was having problems with. I'm now on a different machine (more memory, Windows 10) and haven't had any prob…

Sorry, should have said, I'm using Standalone and Chrome. I've updated to 4.0.29.5 but it doesn't seem to have made any difference. If I click the 'insert reference' button in the Word add-in and start typing the author name of the paper I want it…

I'm using Zotero version 4.0.28.7 and Microsoft Word version 14.0.7128.5000 (32-bit). It's slightly better now than it was earlier on (since rebooting again), but certainly not instantaneous.
-
That was the first thing I tried, but it's showing as installed in the Cite tab in Zotero preferences, but no Zotero tab is showing up in Word.
-
Ah, right, I click to download the plugin, and then click on the download to install.
-
I click 'Ok', it brings up another box saying that the content was unreadable, do I want to recover the contents of the document, yes or no. If i click yes it says again that it can't open the file and closes the boxes, if I click no it just closes…

I can't remember having an option or choosing to open it in Word. But I am using Zotero Standalone - can't see the add-in in Word though: https://www.flickr.com/photos/136493022@N03/21789039424/in/datetaken/ Sorry if I'm misunderstanding.

It looks like a Word error message. I can email a screenshot if that would help?
-
Tried again today, downloaded again and tried installing but got exactly the same error message. Any ideas? Thanks, Danni

Yes, I've tried it three times now. Turned it off, turned it on again, etc. I've recently upgraded to Windows 10 and re-installed Office - could that have anything to do with it?

Fantastic, thank you so much, that's found it! Really useful to know about this, thanks.

Great, thanks, it's now letting me delete batches (though takes 5-10 minutes of 'Not Responding' to do so for each 2k items I select and delete). Each time it has deleted a batch it seems to reset itself so that all the parent/child items are expan…
