ah! perfect. that is much faster. I didn't realize that ctrl+a would jump over the references and just select the attachments. thanks!

Yes, the saved search is very useful feature for this. I still have to ctrl click each attachment to delete them and it consumes time. It's like pulling weeds from the garden. ;)

" sure, but that takes more clicks than deleting the attached link, which you find extremely annoying, so that's not really a solution. " I am not really following your logic here, these are two separate things. In one case I am deleting an att…

+1 for simple five star rating system. Seems like people have been requesting this for a long time.

+1 for getting rid of the "pubMed entry" attachments. This is extremely annoying behavior for all of the reasons mentioned above. I don't understand why having an attachment is a good workaround for getting back to the pubMed page when it cause…

@adamsmith - I think I have a temporary solution to simplify the translator behavior. I modified the NCBI Pubmed.js file, which I will update to the latest version when it is fixed in the next release. In the meantime, to prevent the storage o…

Yes, thank-you, that would be very helpful. If you provide or point me to some instructions, I think I can fumble my way through it. I could use that as a patch in the meantime.

I agree, the catalog (PubMed in this case) provides the link to the fulltext, but the reverse is not true. Also, another reason I prefer the reference-doubleclick to go directly to Pubmed, is that I like to make use of the 'Related citations in…

I agree that this is a good idea, as this new 'Source URL' field eliminates the need for the PubMed Link attachment. I would be great to be able to choose the default double-click behavior (in the absence of attachment) between the DOI and the …

I think you are correct aurimas - there is nothing in the URL field currently. It makes complete sense that the DOI field points to the publisher's fulltext. So therefore if the DOI and URL are essentially redundant, I'm not understanding why…

The previous default behavior on double-click was perfect. It would open the attachment if one is present. If there was no attachment, it would open the URL (which would take me to the PubMed page where I could review the abstract in a standardize…

Sorry, I forgot to mention this issue is related to these threads: http://forums.zotero.org/discussion/25635/pubmed-import-partially-broken/ and http://forums.zotero.org/discussion/25697/automatic-link-to-pubmed/ Where the discus…

Anyone get any further with this? I am still stuck without being able to sync (although I am paying for zotero server space). What are the keys to keeping the database clean enough to sync - I don't think it is the overall size that is the problem…
-
Since my database is not that large (6,000 citations, zotero.sqlite = 140kb), and based on what Dan said (Feb 5, 2010), I am suspecting that there could be some troublesome citations in my database that are causing my "Database of this size cannot y…

...also it would be useful to color the folders and or change the icons for folders in the 'my library' folder view. More ability to sort and classify is always better.

I am in a similar spot as breckenr - I have not been able to sync my database for several months. I used to be able to sync to an non-zotero WebDAV but now I receive the error "Databases of this size cannot yet be synced. Please check back soon. (R…

Keep it simple. Single-user, five stars rating system with the ability to turn this feature off. Users can decide for themselves what they use the stars for. I agree with Elloyd - It would be nice to get this up an running before worrying abo…

Add my vote for flagging/starring + colors. The more organizational tools of this sort (with the ability for the user to turn them off), the better. . The flags/stars (if visible and sortable in the middle panel) would be an easy way to sort …

...still thinking about Tjowens idea: For journal articles, would it be worth having a separate tab for ID (along with the tabs for Info, Notes, Attachments, Tags and Related) where the multiple identifiers could be stored? The Info tab would…

Thanks for the suggestion. Unfortunately, based on past experiences, I think I am unlikely to get a response from the folks at EasyArticles. It was a great piece of software that did many things well, but it doesn't seem to have any sort of ongoin…

I also think this is a good idea. The lack of a versatile ID field is a weakness of zotero at the moment. 1. The PMID and PMCID identifiers definitely need to have separate fields, rather than being lumped into the 'Extras" field. If this c…

The export feature from easyarticles is limited to a .txt in medline format. Zotero won't import the .txt file (reports that 'No translator could be found for the given file.") The "Export as Medline Citations" feature of easyarticles is pret…

Yes, this is a crucial feature for maintaining an article database. I am primarily collecting PubMed entries and it would be great to be able to do a duplicate search based on user defined criteria (such as PMID) that would uniquely identify each a…
