I would really like to see this as well. A horizontal layout on a widescreen results in a lot of wasted space and a cramped feel for the web page or PDF being viewed. Please add an optional vertical display.

Thanks for the links, Trevor. I didn't realize this was already being addressed.

I'm curious what others are doing here. Correcting each entry manually? Just dropping the Jr., III, etc. altogether? Refusing to cite people with Jr., III, etc. after their names? ;) None of these seems like a good solution to me.

I love this feature. Great idea and great implementation. (Yes, adding it to the author field would be nice.) One minor bug (I think) that I noticed is when the title includes quotation marks. This: THE DYNAMIC “STRUCTURE” OF ISAIAH 40-66: AN ANAL…

I'd like to see this as well. I think Bruce's suggestion should do the trick. Good to see that this might be a part of Beta 2.

Here's an example that might illustrate the problem: Stuhlmacher, Peter. Revisiting Paul’s Doctrine of Justification: A Challenge to the New Perspective. Downers Grove: IVP, 2002. This volume is authored by Peter Stuhlmacher, but contains an essay…

Good point, awenner. I've thought the same thing. HobbesvsBoyle, I like your rename suggestions.

How many entries do you have in your database? Several of us have been having problems with larger databases, and they are working on a fix. See here:Error 587657, Invalid response from serverCan't Get My Zotero Library onto a Second Machinefirst s…

I, too, would like to be able to cite multivolume works where the individual volumes have titles different from the title of the whole work. The best workaround I've found so far is to enter the title of the whole work in the Series field and make m…

Ah. Much better. Thanks, Dan! Even though it does seem to open up behind Word every time by default, I'd rather put up with that minor inconvenience than not be able to move it around. Besides, with two screens I can just move it to the other screen…

I'm having the same difficulty importing a large database (12,000+) to a second and third machine. I have my entire Zotero database on my primary machine, but it took some work and patience to get it all imported properly. I did it in smaller chunks…

Agreed. It would be a nice feature addition.

I, too, would like to see a better way to handle introductions, forewords, prefaces, afterwords, etc. According to the 7th ed. of Turabian, I need something like this: Cornelius Plantinga Jr., foreword to Jesus and the Father: Modern Evangelicals …

Thanks—again. Feel free to delete this one as well.

Thanks, Sean. Sorry about that. My apologies for not searching more diligently. Feel free to delete this thread.

Sean, I have been searching before every post and in this case my query turned up no relevant results.

Bruce, you're a lifesaver. I didn't realize that you could insert a Zotero citation into an existing footnote!! This makes things way easier! I thought all of the contents of a Zotero footnote had to be created using the insert footnote feature. Tha…

Okay, it appears that you shouldn't input text into the editor directly, but rather use the Prefix and Suffix fields. It wasn't obvious to me what those were for until I tried them. So here's a question: is it ever appropriate or desirable to input…

Bruce, I'm using 1.5 Beta 1, and I do have a button that allows me to add hyperlinks in notes; however, I cannot click any of them and jump to the destination. http://screencast.com/t/U5WNmqcJ I tried adding the link manually instead of using the …

I see that this discussion started several years ago, but I don't see that a book review item has been added yet (though I do see a "Reviewed Author" field, though I'm not sure what purpose it serves). Please do add a book review item. I have scores…

You can insert an en dash by holding down alt and pressing 0150. You can insert an em dash by holding down alt and pressing 0151. Others you might find useful are 0145 (left single quotation mark), 0146 (right single quotation mark), 0147 (left…

Thanks, Frank. I'm working with some others to compile a list of all of the differences between CMOS and Turabian and will post back here when we're done.

Awesome. Thanks, Dan.

Thanks for the update, Dan. Good to hear.

Thanks, Sean. I appreciate the response. And thanks for all of the great work!

I've used http://www.sharemation.com/ in the past for free WebDav. Worked great for using Adobe Acrobat's review feature. Might be worth checking out.

Update: Based on some great instructions from another thread, I deleted all of my tags, since they were mostly autogenerated and unuseful. I then tried to sync on my main machine, which was working fine to this point, but it didn't appear to take, …

This seems to be a widespread problem (see, e.g., my "Can't Get My Zotero Library onto a Second Machine" thread and "Error 587657, Invalid response from server"). I haven't seen any responses that helpfully address it. It would be nice to at least h…

Mark, same problem here. I do have 12,000+ entries though. Firefox freezes for 15-20 minutes every time it tries to perform the first sync to the server. It's been trying dozens of times over the last couple of days, but fails every time. jlanders,…
