Thanks very much - it was acutally that pdf with the periods which stopped the sync completely. Renaming and reattaching the pdf solved the problem! Can be marked as solved. :)

Thanks again - just wanted to tell you that i also was able to use your input in this thread: http://forums.zotero.org/discussion/16531/sort-bibliography-by-reference-type/ to sort my bibliography by type. Zotero is an awesomely powerful tool. :)
