• 2022 - had the same problem. I emptied the cache of Firefox (https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/how-clear-firefox-cache) and then it worked.

• Update: I just installed OpenOffice 2.3 RC3, reinstalled the OpenOffce.org Components in the Firefox add-on Zotero OpenOffice Integration 3.0a5, and now everything works... Note: I am using Mac OSX 10.6.2 (Snow Leopard).
