Ditto: if the pdf file has been renamed by zotero, the name in the zotero window should match it. I always assumed that the current behavior was a bug, not a feature, because the behavior seems so inconsistent. But it's also insignificant.

continuing my prior post.. I forgot to mention that I tried to follow mgpapp's advice, and I went to Box.net/dav in my browser. But The certificate had'nt expired and my login worked fine, and this did not clear up the sync problem in zotero.
