Thanks.

Thanks. I didn't realized, that the menu changes in the pdf reader.
-
Thank you arild, I didn't know that. Perhaps you know a way to add a link to a website easily by drag-and-drop?
-
I have a similar scenario as the users above. I share mylib contents with various people in different group libs and it is very difficult to keep track on these shared items. At the moment I try to do this manually. It's terrible. To simplify this …
-
Yes, you are right. Would be helpfull for me too.
-
Hi Monika, you asked where the libnumber, libtype and libapikey you need for pyzotero come from. For libtype there exist only 2 possiblities "user" or "group" - whether which kind of library you will treat. MyLib is of type "user". lipapikey you …

Hi Simon, one way to find things in your database with similar tags is surely to incoorporate a thesaurus into zotero. But this is not the way for my "workaround" regarding hierarchical tags. You asked me, how I personally work with synonymes or s…
-
Hi Simon, I'm missing this feature, too. For a long time now. Meanwhile I use structured tags instead of hierarchical tags, and use a special character ">" for structuring. For example to >MED>therapy>lithotripsy or >MED>therap…

I have solved the cert9.db/key4.db problem of firefox60, by installing an older firefox (52-ESR) version, importing my special organisations certificates and using the in firefox52 gernerated cert8.db, key3.db Files (from the profile) for zotero5-pr…

@ciugl thanks for the answer. Perhaps I will have a look on certutil, if it's not to complicated.
-
Can anyone else give me a more detailed help/answer on my question above?
-
Thanks for this hint.
-
@cuigl: you mentioned, that it is possible to convert the cert9.db (from Firefox 60.0) to a cert8.db file, needed for zotero5. Can you give me more detailed help, how to do that? Thanks.
-
I have the same problem. Firefox works. But in the Firefox profile directory I can't find a cert8.db, key8.db file to copy to the zotero profile, but only a cert9.db, key4.db. How can I handle this problem. Is it possible to generate from FF60 a …

There is a similar thread on this topic. https://forums.zotero.org/discussion/47107/searching-across-all-group-libraries

Thanks @dstillman. Your last hint to add another tag to force down sync to the mass-edited tags via the pyzotero API works.
-
Ok, that's fine. Do you know the timeline therefore?
-
@dstillman, could it be, that there is a "sync" problem. When I change tags (add/delete them) over pyzotero (zotero API) it takes some time (about 1min) until I see the changes in the web-version of the group lib. I have to refresh the tag-selecto…
-
@dstillman, now I have used the script above another time for my EL-Gruppe group library. It works without error. But after manual sync, it seems to be the same situation as before: locally I have some item with A:-Tags (also in the tag-selector) a…
-
@dstillman, you are right. Now I have the same A: tags online as I have locally. As I have started the discussion, this situation was different. For tag-renaming I use pyzotero and the following python-skript. Initially I didn't used the zotero.e…
-
Thanks for your response. That means, that the pyzotero method "zotero.delete_tags" do not work properly? Do I understand you right, you advice me to manually delete the "undeleted" tags in the tag-selector?
-
The group name is "EL-Gruppe" (ID: 236494). I have tried to replace all tags with "A:..." by ">". In my local EL-Gruppe Lib I have an item with both tags e.g. A:proj>R>TUS-BurstWave-Analyse and the new replacement >proj>R>TUS-B…

Both - at the item and in the tag selector.
-
@adamsmith Now I have written a python script, which adds renamend tags and finally deletes the old one. It works so far. In the group library at the Zotero-Server the "deleted" tags seemed to be deleted. But in my "local" group lib, the "deleted…

Yes it makes sense. Thanks. It is a bit complicated for a non-python man as me. But I will try it. Perhaps it would be an simple zotero API extension to have a method to modify a tag. I think it would be very similar to the delete_tag method.
-
I have tried to use pyzotero. Initial steps were successfully. I can find, add and delete tags from a group library. But I can't find an API method to modify a tag. Is there any simple way to modify the contents of a tag with a regexp command?
-
adamsmith, thanks for the information. I will try to work with pyzotero. Any help for this way is welcome ;-).
-
Thanks to both. I'm using zotero5, therefore I should try pyzotero. Do the zotero javascript method don't work for zotero5 anymore? I'm not really familiar with python / javascript and the zotero API. Do you know a step-by-step example, I can f…

zotero5 standalone - with the firefox connector. (But some of the group work with zotero4 as firefox plugin)

@dstillman: "Linked files have never been available in groups" is not correct. In my group lib I have added an Link to URI using the file:// protocol on Oct 2016. And it works fine for our local group. (Perhaps it was possible with the firefox-versi…
