Thank you this worked well for Fedora. I don't have root access, so I've chosen a different folder than "/opt/zotero". Apart from that I could follow every step from the installation instruction: https://www.zotero.org/support/installation

In the groups section of the general preferences all boxes are checked (as I said I did not cahnge anything in the preferences, except adding synchrinization)

Did I understand correclty that it is not possible to keep the annotatins when I move papers from a collection into a group? For our group the only purpose of Zotero is to sync annotations within the group. I just imported the groups via collections…
