I spoke too soon: it's still not right. See https://surfdrive.surf.nl/files/index.php/s/BBCtE117kba8oYF
-
Although I still wouldn't mind somewhat more space between the lines in the entry pane. They don't overlap anymore, but they're very close to each other.
-
This is on linux (ubuntu 20.04). I do use a scaling factor, and setting it back to 1 solves the issue. Thanks for your help.

Here is a link to a screen shot: https://surfdrive.surf.nl/files/index.php/s/VMrJnw889ULMh5U

Great, thanks, that works.
-
Hmm, that doesn't work for me. That is to say: I only seem to get that clickable time stamp when the tweet is embedded, like the one above.
-
I've worked it out (I think). In a tweet on your time line, you select 'copy link to tweet', then open that link in a separate tab, and then zotero can capture it as a tweet, with all the right metadata. Is that it? It works, but it is a bit cumbers…
-
Ah, that's interesting. It does work for that tweet. Is it because it is not part of a thread? But many of the tweets that I would like to capture are part of threads. Also, it doesn't seem to work for this one: https://twitter.com/derxen/status/104…

Okay, it works now. I had to remove all the files in the registry subfolders.
-
And now the libreoffice zotero toolbar does not do anything at all ...
-
I fixed it in one document by removing one apparently problematic citation, but now in a second document, trying the same conversion, libreoffice just crashes completely.
-
Never mind, used a one word name for the group and that worked.
-
I have the same problem right now. Can you help me too? derxen
-
Okay, thanks for all your help. If there's anything else you want me to check, just let me know.
-
Yes, it's the path name length. I checked at the root level and two directories below that. At each level the maximum total path name length is 216
-
I got the 198 by adding the path length of the deepest directory to where the file would copy and the length of the file name. The PNESTQMM directory was a few levels deeper. In fact, is it significant that the first level to where the file could no…

Yes, that worked. Thank you very much. Is there anything I can do to help you locate the cause of the limitation?
-
It's Novell Netware with NWFS. Files with names of a 125 character or longer do not copy. That makes the whole path name 198 characters. Does that make sense?
-
As far as I can see, it's a problem of file name length in combination with the path: files with names above a certain length will not copy to the firefox profile folder, but will copy higher up in the path. I'll try to figure out the exact length.
-
Right, I understand. As you said, copying to C: is no problem at all. I just tried. I think the problem with saving to the network share has to do with file name length, because some of them, with shorter names, do copy. I'll experiment a bit more i…

Sorry, I don't quite understand what you want me to do: should I copy the files with shortened names to my zotero storage folder, then reset sync by uploading to the server?
-
I did as you suggested. The long file was actually 12 files with very long names. When I tried to copy them to the zotero storage folder on the xp computer (actually the network share where the firefox profile is) it gave me an error: 'The filename,…

I do have the PNESTQMM folder here (on the network share where the profile is of the firefox on this windows xp computer), but without the file with the long name. When I get home this afternoon I'll find the file on my home computer (Linux) and tom…

Yes, sorry, it is a sync attempt. The debug id is: D205568248. thanks for your help. derxen

... and I'm using zotero 2.0b7.6. The full error message: Component returned failure code: 0x80004005 (NS_ERROR_FAILURE) [nsIFile.create] derxen

I have the same problem with drag&dropping links, snapshots and notes (both standalone and linked to item). Is it supposed to be possible, or that not a feature yet? It would be very convenient.
-
Update: dragging items to the group folder now works as well, at least on this (home, Linux) computer. derxen
-
Update: zotero did sync after a while. I had a cursory look and everything seemed to be there. Then when I wanted to move an item to my newly created group (very exciting!), I got this error: 1524112728 derxen
-
Just to clarify: in my case firefox doesn't lock up, but zotero doesn't sync. derxen

I had the same problem, report id 766825646: I upgraded to 2.0 on my home computer, synced without a hitch, then upgraded my work computer, tried to sync and got this error. derxen
