• You are right I found that myself last night. By disabling the autosave of AutoZotBib Zotero is way more responsive. Thanks.

• As an update to help isolate the problem, with the same identical library Zotero in firefox added a new entry to the library in real time. So it is definitely something in Zotero standalone.
