With the (no longer especially) new PubMed interface with a selected summary of each record, you may want to pre-screen the items you import to Zotero. I run a daily search that results in between 500 and 1500 items (depending upon the number of res…

You don't describe your level of experience and knowledge of working with databases and database programming. I may be accomplishing what you want by exporting Zotero records in MODS format and using a parser to import those records into my online…

With Zotero 6 (currently as a very mature beta) you have a note app built in. The Zotero note system is wonderful!
-
@adamsmith I have a way of doing this to have my database import MODS parser take page numbers from the Zotero field and handle this as an Article number. I don't know how much effort would be required to incorporate what I do into Zotero styles or …

@kelly.franks Please explain further the purpose of your document and where you plan to submit (or if in academia turn-in) your work. Most universities and journals have very specific requirements for how references must be formatted. One of the va…

I confess that when I must edit my LO document near a live ReferenceMark, I find it easier and quicker to delete the Zotero Mark and a few words before and after it. It only takes a few seconds to retype the text and reinsert the Zotero field. I've …

I think that you will be exchanging one problem for another. Even with this reference-field-extension problem, I still use ReferenceMarks with LO documents. See: https://www.zotero.org/support/kb/existing_citations_not_detected "Bookmarks can cau…

It seems to me that the Zotero ref fields for some of your citations have been 'flattened' . I recommend that you save your document, and working with the copy switch to a numeric style such as Vancouver, find the in-text citations that remain in a …

Thank you for this extraordinary plugin. It is great even at 0.0.x! I have opened two issues with suggestions.

@ccjjpp There are experts on this forum who can correspond with you in many of the world's languages.

@Gaogong @windwing Please provide more details according to the Reporting Problems link above. The "last article" clearly has meaning to each of you but to someone who cannot see your screen "last article" could have many different meanings. Which…

@Konzertheld Please do post to the link above. This is a LibreOffice bug that has long been ignored or, perhaps, ranked as minimally important. It can only help if new comments are posted about this frustrating issue.

I apologize if I'm misunderstanding what you want. In the distant past I used index cards to copy citations and quotes, take notes and I added keywords and used crayons for color codes. But that ended after the 1960s and 70s. I now read almost all…

The regular Zotero from the Zotero.org homepage is for desktop/notebook operating systems. Zotero for iOS is in a limited beta. The Zotero developers have always had a policy of not announcing release dates. In my opinion the beta is _very_ mature …

EBSCO will only allow a certain maximum number of items to be downloaded within a certain time interval. Ask your reference librarian about the limits inherent with your institution's subscription. edit You should be able to avoid this rate-limit b…

@MandyKatz please don't only lurk. It is common here for those asking for help to themselves be asked to asked to rephrase the question using different words. You used jargon that suggested you had knowledge of and experience with Zotero. Are yo…

I am now getting article numbers upon importing nbib files. Thank you to all involved in getting this done.

enozkan was describing the Zotero computer program (Mac, Windows, Linux-flavors) not the iPad app.

Please reconsider using MacUpdate or similar adware-supported utilities. Zotero has its own auto-update system. Essentially all non-Apple Mac software will (if you wish) automatically notify you that an update is available.

1. Do _not_ send your supervisor the only recent copy of your document with Zotero reference codes. The process your supervisor uses to open and save your document can damage the Zotero citation code fields. EndNote will not recognize Zotero citatio…

Indeed ! I don't have a handy link to the rule book (my old printed version, Bibliographic Description Manual (7th revised edition - 2008) is all I could find) but I know that for literature database and cataloging purposes the word issue=número. A…

@harrylande If you are who I think you are and working in Cork, (even if you are someone else) ask your university reference desk librarians for Zotero assistance. Someone there can help you solve your problems with Zotero in less than 5 minutes whi…

If by "main collection up top" you are referring to your Library; that is by design. Each item in your library _can_ be in one or more collections. Library items are not required to be in a collection.
-
Items can exist in more than one collection (or not in any collection). Items can be moved from collection to collection. Items can be removed from a collection without deleting the item from your library. edit: Items can be copied from a collection…

Maybe make tags = "1X", "2X", "3X", etc. Those would sort to the top. This would be great if "1X" was your best rank. I haven't tried this but maybe you can create tags with 1 to 5 asterisks.

It is likely that you are (still) trying to connect the online version of Zotero with the Word software on your computer. You should not need to repeatedly reinstall. Something quite fundamental is wrong. Either there is something curiously misconfi…

This discussion forum isn't perfect but it, in practice, is functioning far better than any other software support system I've used over the years. The only improvements might be to allow Boolean searches for topics. (But I've never seen that done…

How the citations are formatted (commas or otherwise) is dependent on the bibliographic style you are using in your manuscript. On a new document practice writing a few sentences of a paragraph, add references, then go back and edit those reference…

Yes, I meant 1042. Thank you, I had hopes that could be done.

I suspect that Bookends is exporting curiously flawed metadata in the .bib. Sharing the requested examples might allow the Zotero experts to fix your problem (without much, if any, editing on your part).
