You said you are new to Zotero. Please say more so that someone may better help you... Did you import the articles to Zotero from EndNote? Do the records when still in EndNote have keywords? Many publishers don't provide keywords with their metadat…

Using the beta 7, Sage (with the new web UI) has been working fine for the past 10-15 days at least. Latest Firefox and Mac OS. Please provide that URL or the DOI.

You already recognize that Zotero is a powerful tool for facilitating the organization of references you collect and properly formatting citations to meet the requirements of your manuscript. As I understand your request, you are asking for a new Zo…

Okay. Zotero's duplicate detection utility is by design quite sensitive. For many reasons that is a very good philosophy. You really want to identify all potential duplicates and make decisions about how they should be handled. Almost identical rec…

If you are using Word for Mac it can take ages. That is unfortunately normal for Mac Word especially if you have many references in a document that long. Zotero generating a bibliography from a long document with many references is not zippy because…

@pms This is really difficult to accomplish without introducing errors -- something that, in my opinion, is worse than incomplete metadata. Zotero developers are to be commended for their careful approach. A few of the many examples of the prob…

Almost ≠ same year of publication. In each case the first of the pair is a pre-print, report, or conference paper while the second item in each case is a journal article. Volume, issue and pagination field metadata are different for each pair. The…

I have Zotero PDF Translate and Zutilo both have been disabled since I installed 7 beta. I have Zotero on another machine also with Beta 7 and I was able to import the nbib file on that machine and edit the records. This may be a glitch that is tr…

Following a style guide can sometimes seem counter intuitive. Correctly following the guide can sometimes feel wrong. The use of Zotero allows you to automatically and correctly alphabetize author names following your chosen style standard. The dis…

It is likely that Zotero may be able to offer you the CSL style you want even if it isn't among the several seemingly built-in styles. There are CSL styles for even very obscure journals. There are more than 8 thousand styles available! See: https:…

A great way to solve your problems is to download the free Zotero and transfer your library. You should realize that Mendeley is a commercial product and you are receiving technical support from Zotero volunteers.
-
Consider the version of the style that you are using and that this may be the _correct_ way to have the name in an alphabetically sorted bibliography. I suspect that is what you are experiencing. If not--- What version of Zotero? How did you obta…

Let's not encourage people to visit that site. I confess that I stole a peek at the site by connecting my iPad through a cellular and VPN (away from my home network). The site served me advert pages with no download button. edit: Thank you for the…

Please say more about the word processor program you are using and its version (MS Word, LibreOffice, Google Docs). Also, Mac, Linux, or Windows. Reference citations inserted in table cells can go unrecognized in some cases.

Try again using the application that resides on your computer (not on the web). Moving collections in and out of groups is easy to accomplish within the program. You can reassign ownership of a group. edit: In my case (for reasons too complex to e…

For me, also on a Mac, what mattered was clicking on the Abstract label to the left of the field. I'm now using the 7-beta and I don't think I've encountered this issue since the upgrade.

Please say more... Is this with inserting references in a word processor (Google Docs, LibreOffice, MS Word)? Is this an issue with the Zotero function that allows you to create a report or a bibliography? Something else? What (exact) error mess…

The built-in system is quick and allows you to edit so that the proper nouns are properly cased. I edit about 250 records downloaded from PubMed every day. Editing those items to assure accurate sentence case moves quickly. I want my records to be…

From past upgrades, betas need to be absolutely rock solid and key plugins (those that will be updated) will need to be compatible. So far, Zotero 7 beta is a thing of beauty.

Is it possible to, when inserting cites, to make it more obvious the origin of the site: Zotero library or document existing citations. I've never had this problem but it seems to be the topic of questions.
-
Is the citation only in note form or is there a Zotero record of the item in your Zotero Library.
-
If you obtained Zotero from the Zotero website you are certainly safe. If you obtained "Zotero" from some other source you may not be safe, you may not have downloaded Zotero and what you downloaded could be dangerous.
-
@eliiseu Zotero uses CSL for creating the styles you use -- several (or maybe many) other bibliography management programs also use CSL. CSL is handled by a different separate entity from Zotero. CSL styles are developed/created by volunteers and n…

TMI: When I was a contractor for the VA making annotated bibliographies, it was in the ancient days before Zotero. EndNote and Reference Manager were not approved software. I used my own computer and RM. To share my work product I used dBase and la…

I worked for a time as a contractor within VA. The agency has always had very restrictive policies about what software could be on their computers, even what websites could be visited, etc. At that time they didn't allow individual users to update t…

Thank you. This has been fixed in the beta5 (maybe before). Much appreciated.

How is one to know that Sweeney, T isn't named Thomas or Theresa? Todd G isn't Todd Gordon? For years my team had been working on a system [[edit: for our own outside Zotero-facilitated database] that assigns probabilities to name matches using the…

Fix case is good. Toggle case?

@Snowy5138 The error messages aren't for you but for the folks who work on fixing translator and similar problems.

Confirming that this works perfectly in beta 2. Thank you for so quickly making the update.
