Thanks adamsmith I'll give it a try when the student visits the library later today.

Thanks for reminding me about the "Endnote/Citavi". I find explaining the nuances of how Zotero imports content (browsers, various sites and content) to be challenging for incoming students. What's interesting is I don't see the same problem with C…

Thanks @adamsmith. Will definitely play with this. Look forward to teaching this new function to students and faculty when 7 goes live.

Wow this is great. I introduce students to Zotero at my college and I've been telling them about the upcoming changes. I'll have to show them this tomorrow. I've them use Zotero 6, and we're waiting until the official release to migrate to Zotero 7

Hi @Robertsda. I might be going down a rabbit hole but how are you proxying access to your licensed content? Many campus will use some sort of authentication tool like EZ Proxy and I'm wondering if some of you challenges are residing there.

Our small campus is finally pulling the plug on RefWorks and moving entirely to Zotero 6. Just introduced to my students this last week and you should have seen how big their eye's got when I explained the PDF reader and creating groups for projects…

This is excellent. Our campus is moving from RefWorks to Zotero, a change that is long over due. This will help be explain the difference between the two. Again thanks.

Thanks dstillman. Your comments can help me express why we want to use the desktop version. Personally I love it and have used it for many years. Trying to express this to my fellow librarians is the challenge. I suspect our faculty and students wil…

Thanks tnajdek for the notes. Is there a reason why development went toward a desktop and not have the full functionality with the web. If I recall the initial development was in that direction. For our campus we will have the desktop available on o…

If this helps here is a sample Zotero export from ExLibris summon. I'm not sure but I wonder if there is a tag missing which indicates what field the metadata needs to go into. TY - BOOK ID - 1 A1 - Noll, Ray Robert T1 - Sacraments: a new unde…

Thanks this worked perfectly.

Hi, sorry to bring this back up but I have a graduate student who has the same problem. The Graduate School has told her that et al should be used for two or more authors. Given the above conversation it does not look like there is a simple way to…

Thanks for the suggestion. Found the setting and I'll give it a try. I had it set to using ReferenceMarks. Missed completely the different settings. thanks

Ive opened them in Open Office and saved them as Doc and Docx files as well as have opened them in Word '10 and '07 using the save as functions. Would simply saving them as txt files and then re-saving them in word '10 do the trick. I would los…

Well that didn't work. Should I be thinking how best to convert the Open Office doc to word or is there something else I'm missing?
-
I should add that I converted these docs from Open Office to Word '07. It was suggested that I try converting them to '03 and then see what happens, which I'll do later today.
-
No this does not. The docs that I'm using were originally written using Open Office. I've had to switch to Word because of platform limitations.
-
The thing is that it does not seem that I have a click-to-run installation. How do I know whether or not that I do?
-
I've closed and restarted firefox and that seemed to work.

Could some one please shed some light on this. I updated to Zotero 1.5B2.1. I've updated and sync'd Zotero to several devices (Desktop, Laptop and portable). I've had no problems syncing With Zotero on the portable and desktop. With the laptop I…
