The Age online translator broken

Hi,

The Age online translator appears to be broken. Here's a sample link that doesn't work:

http://www.theage.com.au/national/salvos-urge-gillard-to-refocus-on-child-poverty-20101017-16p48.html

The translator icon reports this as The Age translator, so I assume it is probably a site-specific change.

  • Same here, with Firefox 5.01 + Zotero 2.18 (also happens with more recent articles, such as http://www.theage.com.au/technology/technology-news/could-google-have-caught-the-norway-killer-20110728-1i17r.html).
  • someone would have to completely re-write the translator - it uses metadata that's simply not part of the site structure anymore.
This would be good for any beginner interested in trying to write a framework translator

I could be wrong, but I doubt you'd find any of the non-Aussies who usually write translators super motivated to fix this.
  • Thanks -- I don't have the time for this right now, but I'll try to do it in mid-August; it's something I was interested in learning.
  • Great, post with any questions to the dev list:
    http://groups.google.com/group/zotero-dev
people will be more than happy to help.
  • the translator for The Age has now been fixed (indeed by a fellow Australian).
