cite multiple times to the same paper

Hi all:
I just started using zotero last week and I came across a strange problem. I first inserted a citation and change it's style in the editor so that it is displayed as what I want in the bibliography session. When I cited this paper again later in the document, zotero inserted a new bibliography entry, which looks different from the first one. When I cited it the third time, zotero inserted another entry like
[3] Ibid.
which looks nonsense. I am very sure there are no duplicate papers in my library. Get really confused. Could anyone help me with this? I am using word 2003 and zotero 2.1

Many thanks,
Peter
  • "Ibid." should certainly never occur in the bibliography. I am unable to reproduce this in Open Office, and there have not been any similar reports. What style are you using?
  • I used "Chicago Manual of Style (Full Note with Bibliography)"
  • this all seems perfectly correct then -
Chicago requires that subsequent entries take a shorter form and notes that cite the same work immediately again are ibid.
