Zotero Renewal

Hi all,

Perhaps someone can help answer this question. I had signed up for extra storage a year ago thinking that I would need it to store all of my citations. I realized that my account has remained far below the limit for free storage of 100 MB. I received an email from Digital Scholar asking me to renew my account, but there is no option for me to renew it as a non-paying customer. They said that they will suspend my account if I don't pay in 30 days and delete my files. I cannot get in touch with the people at Digital Scholar who handle Zotero renewals...there is no contact information and the people do not respond to my emails. How can I continue as a non-paying subscriber without getting my account deleted? Thanks in advance for your help.

  • They really should answer you, but what's going to get deleted is your 1GB zotero storage account, not your Zotero account - i.e. you'll automatically continue as a non-paying user and will most likely not notice any changes.
They should also clarify this in their e-mail.
  • Yes-- your files under 100 MB will be untouched. Sounds like bad wording. I'm not sure precisely what happens with files over the paid amount-- not sure they are deleted outright, but someone official would have to clarify.
  • Thank you! this is super helpful!
