additional categories for documents?

Hey,

I use the german version of Zotero and I am missing some types of document categories to categorize my documents properly. Is it possible for me to add them on my own? How?

Especially, I am missing "court decision" (from highest to lowest level of jurisdiction would also be great). Also, I would need "Master thesis", "Bachelor Thesis"
"Term Paper" "Diploma Thesis" (I know they are not "scientific" and not citable,however I would still need to have these sources labeled)

So, if this is not possible for the normal user, how can I contact the "responsible" person for the german version of Zotero?

    It's not possible and has nothing to do with the "German" version (which really isn't a separate version - it just puts German words where otherwise English/Russian/Swedish etc. words are.)
    Not allowing custom item types is a basic design decision of Zotero - I don't have time to go through all the reasons, but essentially it comes down to making data interchangable and consistent across users, so this won't happen in the future either.
    You can label resources using tags and/or collections - more visual tagging, e.g. colored tags, are planned.

    For court decision, Zotero has what in English is the "Case" item type - I'd figure that'd be "Fall" in German - maybe not an ideal translation. If you can't meet your _citation_ needs with what exists, see the top pinned thread on this forum.

    thank you for the fast reply. I absolutely understand your explanation.
    But "case" or "Fall" will work for me. It just did not catch my eye because the translation does not correspond 100% to the correct german term which would be "Gerichtsentscheidung". Hm, but actually it is the correct translation for "case". But I would say that even "case" would not be the correct identification in english. "Case" is more colloquial and serves a wide range of subjects/objects. "Court decision" would identifiy this category better, I think. Of course, this might be wrong and I dont want to go to far out on a limb as a non-native speaker ;)

    There are a number of lawyers involved in updating and expanding Zotero as a legal citation tool, so I'll leave that to them.
    There is a somewhat dormant google group on that where I'm sure people would be happy about int'l collaborators.
