Sync Zotero with Firefox portable

Hello,

I would like to know how to sync Zotero with the Firefox portable version on my pendrive, so that when I capture information from a public library, I can easily transfer it to the Zotero collection in my desktop computer.

I have downloaded the Google sync application (http://www.google.com/tools/firefox/browsersync/)

but as far I see, it only syncs cookies, passwords, bookmarks, history and tabs - not Mozilla add-ons like Zotero.

What can I do?

Thanks. Happy New Year.
  • I do this successfully with my flash drive. Since the Google browsersync plugin won't sync your add-ons I have used both MS SyncToy and Goodsync to sync these two folders:

    On the flash drive: \FirefoxPortable\Data\profile\zotero
    On the computer: \Firefox\Profiles\**random**\zotero

I have GoodSync setup right now to synchronize the two folders automatically whenever the flash drive is inserted. Good luck!
  • I am new to this and before I start using Zotero I work regularly on my laptop and on a desk top and need to synchronize and update files continuously.
How much memory is needed on the external portable device and which portable devices are good to use?
  • Thanks for your comment cook. I just bought a 2GB Flash Drive and I think it's enough. I just discovered a very good application to synchronize files. It's called Toucan 1.2, and you can download it from http://portableapps.com/
