Zotero Database Repair Tool issues

Dear Zotero developers,

as a result of another issue, I was asked to upload my zotero.sqlite file to the Zotero Database Repair Tool in order to solve the problem. However, I was encountering several problems related to the repair tool:

* The maximum file size of 70 MByte is very small (even for zipped files)
* The repair tool doesn't give any error message if the file is too large. The tool just returns to the start page without any error displayed
* With a Zotero database in a zip-folder (small than 70 MB) I encountered several times an error: "Internal server error. Please try later". I do not know why this occurs.
* Once, I finally got a download link of the repaired database. However, the repaired file has the size of 0 kb. Please see: UT2KI10L
* Uploading the same zotero.zip file again resulted in the error message like "this seems to be no SQLite database. Please upload an SQLite database." Well, it was the correct zotero.sqlite in a zipped folder. I packed the original sqlite file again and again got the same error message.

Now, I don't know what else I can do. Still I was not able to repair my database. Thank you very much in advance for your response.

  • Thank you for increasing the maximum size of the database. This helped.

    However, I still encountered some errors, but was successful in the end.

    (1) I needed to upload the same file five times until I finally got a download link. The first four tries always ended up in an "Internal server error. Please try later"

    (2) If one tries to upload a file larger than the new maximum size, the error message still tells him that the file was larger than 70 MB. This error message is apparently still the old one and not changed to the new maximum file size.

  • For what it's worth, we also fixed the issue you were experiencing (without requiring the DB Repair Tool) in 2.0.7.
