Zotero won't sort bibliography or citations in Windows 7

I've tried same document, with same zotero version 2.0.4, same OO plugin version 3.0a8, same database (synced between two computers, one with Windows 7 and the other with Ubuntu 10.04) and same citation style (APA), with the following finding:

- Windows 7 + OO 3.2.1 Won't sort multiple citations nor bibliography
- Ubuntu 10.04 + OO 3.2.0 will

What is more, OO version, I think, has nothing to do with it, because the validation panels behave in similar way, failing to sort in Windows 7, but doing it in Ubuntu.

Any hints?
  • As a first step, try installing the 2.0 dev xpi and see if that helps. There is a thread on sorting issues here.
  • zotero version 2.0.6 solved the issue, thanks ;)
  • My bad: Actually it solved them only partially, as now bibliography is, indeed, sorted by author, but secondary sort (by date) is not working
  • You need to try the 2.0 Branch dev XPI, not 2.0.6.
  • Ty for the suggestion.... but I have a couple questions:

Is that safe enough... I mean... will i risk my database installing what seems -from the naming- a development code?
Whait is the -conceptual- difference between branch dev and 2.0.6 (or any current version at a given time)?
  • Btw... what is weird is that, as I said in my first post, everything seemed OK in Ubuntu, with same zotero version (maybe this info might help).
  • It's safe—I wouldn't recommend it to you otherwise.

At the current time, very little—it's just the few fixes we've put in since 2.0.6, including one for a remaining sorting issue.

But you should make a backup of your Zotero data directory first for good measure (as you should do regularly anyway).

Once you've confirmed that it fixes the issue, you can switch back to 2.0.6 or wait and install 2.0.7 when it comes out, which should be within the next day—but we need to make sure this is fixed before we can release it.
