No interface after initial download

Hi - am an utter newbie! Just downloaded zotero, and it promises to be all that I hoped Endnote would be ... except I have no iTunes-like interface, just a list of 3 entries, 2 of which i have loaded so far via Amazon, and on this list, there is no way of adding the notes that I have on these.

The third entry is the Zotero user guide, which just shows me how to use the lovely iTunes interface that I don't have! Just a bit frustrating!

I've tried closing the browser down and restarting Zotero, but no change.
Can someone tell me what I can do next?

    I'm not quite sure what you aren't seeing - do you see the icons (a green plus, a paper clip, a magic wand, a stick-it note etc.) in the bar above the list?
    If not you probably have an incompatible theme or add-on for Firefox installed.
    Try using the default theme and disable all other FF extensions.
