Deleting parents

I made a HUGE mistake by creating parent documents for all files in a sub-collection. With this, I am unable to retrieve metadata, and now I want to delete these parent files. Is there a way to do so, or a plugin that is compatible with Zotero 10.0.6 (64-bit)? So far I am using the Fusion method, and then select all fusioned files inside the parent one, and move aside, to take them away from it - 1687 files is a lot...

    Have you merged many parent items so that all files are now attached into the same parent? If so, you can drag them all out of the parent in a single operation, I am not sure why the number of files is so important here?

    If you have more individual files attached to their own unwanted parent, you could use the Linter plugin to retrieve metadata at the parent level https://github.com/northword/zotero-format-metadata
