Organizing folders for synchronization.

Good morning.

I recently signed up for a 2GB plan to store PDFs, but I’m running into an issue. I can't select specific folders to sync; instead, the entire library syncs. I have more than 2GB of files saved on my computer and would like to select specific folders to sync so I can also access them via my smartphone. How can I resolve this?

    You can't select which files (or collections) to sync. You can disable file syncing for individual libraries, but that's it.

    The only way to do this would be to convert attachment files that you don't want to sync from 'stored' to 'linked' files. While you can't *designate* a collection's attachment files to all be linked, you would simply convert all the attachments in a particular collection to be linked (using Zotmoov for example). Linked files are not synced by Zotero*, and thus do not count towards your online file storage quota.

    * you can sync linked files to other Zotero computers yourself, using a cloud service (Dropbox, Onedrive, Google Drive etc), but not to the Zotero mobile apps.
