Unable to open Zotero [Windows beta]

edited today at 4:48am
I am using Windows 11. The last time I closed Zotero, it shut down normally, and that was just yesterday. However, today I cannot open Zotero — nothing happens when I try. My version is 10.0.6(beta). What should I do?
  • I uninstalled version 10.0.6 and reinstalled version 10.0.5, and now it opens. I think version 10.0.6 has a bug.
  • Sorry, it looks like there's a problem with the latest beta for Windows. Reinstall from the beta builds page or, if you're not trying to run a beta, reinstall from the main download page.
  • Hello, could you tell me how to turn off automatic updates? I'd like to wait until the version is more stable before updating manually.

Again, you were running a beta version of Zotero. If you're not trying to run beta software, reinstall 10.0.5 from the main download page. The whole point of the beta is to test the latest code and report issues like this — if that's not what you're trying to do, don't run the beta.
  • OK, understood. Thanks.
  • I had the same problem after automatic update using a beta Zotero.
I installed the version from the main download page and it loads but kinda slow.

@carvalhar: There’s no difference in speed between the current production and beta versions. (The latest beta is also already fixed, so you could just download that again, but again, no difference. All that matters is whether you want to be running beta software.)
