Sorry to bother, but would you mind sharing how you got the read aloud function to skip citations in the first place? Is it a specific voice or setting? In my case no citation is skipped, not with standard or premium voices.

Zotero 10 should skip most citations by default. Make sure you're running Zotero 10 via Help → "Check for Updates…". If it's still not skipping a citation, link to a PDF where it's not working.
