PDF Download from search tools
Hello everyone,
Today I made quite a few attempts to add items to my Zotero Library, including their full-text PDFs. I am accessing Zotero through my institution, so I should be able to download at least the PDFs that I have access to through my institutional subscriptions.
However, I have noticed some inconsistent behavior in Zotero. It seems to download some PDFs (although not many), but not others that I can access, even when they are hosted on the very same platform. This seems to happen regardless of whether the articles are open access or available through my institution’s subscriptions.
I would like to ask whether this might be a Zotero bug or whether there is something I am doing wrong.
I have tried using different tools and sources, including my institution’s instance of the WorldCat discovery tool, Google Scholar, and various databases to which my university subscribes, such as Wiley, Springer Nature, ScienceDirect, Business Source Ultimate, Web of Science, and several others.
Could anyone help me understand whether I am missing something or whether this is a known issue with Zotero’s PDF retrieval feature that might require a fix?
Thank you very much in advance for any suggestions or insights.
Best,
Fabrizio
