?Bug: Zotero 10 Quarto Editor
Hi!
Upgrading to Zotero 10 has meant that the connection to Quarto Editor in Positron IDE no longer works. To recover my workflow I've had to revert to Zotero 9.
Zotero 9 has Quarto side issues on their last release; Zotero 10 does not work with any Quarto version.
Environment: Positron 1.130, Quarto 1.136, Zotero 10, Mac Apple Silicon
I've provided more detail on the Quarto GH: https://github.com/quarto-dev/quarto/issues/1101#issuecomment-5547837756
Very grateful if this can please be investigated- if fix found I will update to 10.

Thank you for your reply and for your useful software.
Quarto is a language for programmatic publishing; one of the strongest reasons for some users (like me) to use Zotero is that Positron (an IDE that embeds Quarto) can automatically detect and reference from Zotero to build biblographies in complex documents alongside the outputs of R and Python analysis pipelines (like a PhD thesis). Given how useful, popular, and mature this functionality is I had assumed it was officially supported by Zotero.
You can read more about this functionality here: https://quarto.org/docs/visual-editor/technical.html#citations-from-zotero
Fwiw I have contacted the developers (https://github.com/quarto-dev/quarto/issues/1101#issuecomment-5547837756) to debug issues on their end for Zotero 9, which are resolved. It seems like something has changed in Zotero 10 to "break" this connection. Understandably, from their perspective, Zotero is also an "external tool". That said, if you have a look on the link provided, they are being proactive in investigating from their end.
Unless we can find a solution, users in my position would unfortunately need to find an alternative to Zotero.
Thank you,
