Clickable hyperlinks in citation preview

It would be very useful to directly follow the hyperlink in a citation preview (when one hovers the mouse over a citation).

Currently, the preview only shows the location of the citation in the bibliography list, which is less useful when it still requires losing one's current reading place in the paper in order to scroll down to the same citation location shown in the preview in order to follow the hyperlink.

    The Reference plugin offers a slightly different way of dealing with that issue, in its right-pane tab. For cited items *not* already in your library, over the cited item you have the right-click "Open in Browser" option to go to that item's URL. For items that *are* in your library, the right-click menu instead offers Open in Tab, to open that PDF in the reader. Neither of those options loses your place in the original PDF.

    Doesn't currently work for me, perhaps due to the Zotero 10 update, but I'll keep it as a plugin in case support improves. Thanks.

    There is a version 10 compatible version of the plugin. But github updates for that plugin are somewhat strange. If you have installed the last release shown on github (1.7.2), which is only Zotero version 9 compatible, it should auto-update to the latest plugin release (currently 1.8.5) within Zotero, which is version 10 compatible. I don't know why those later releases don't appear under Releases on github. And the problem of course is that if you have updated to Zotero version 10 before trying to download the latest release on github, it won't install because that version is only version 9 compatible.

    Perhaps Zotero devs can explain what's going on there, ie how plugins can update to later versions in Zotero despite those versions not being shown on the github releases page.

    Edit: I just found that the version 10 compatible plugin is available on the community plugin repository ....
